Tell Somebody

I'm an introvert.  I like to listen more than I talk.

I like to tell my stories with the written word.  Because you can always hit the backspace button if you think it will offend, and start all over again.

You can't take spoken words back.

But even someone like me has to get the words out now and then.  You just need to vent, to tell someone what is building up in your soul.

How can I be sure the words I tell are good words?  Words to uplift and edify?

If I have been putting in Words from the Giver of Life - words from His book - there won't be room for unkind words or thoughtless words.  If I'm abiding in Him, spending time in His presence, what I tell will be straight from the heart of the Master.

I'm thinking of a line from a gospel song "Go and tell somebody what He's done for you."  You can never go wrong with doing that!

This post was written in response to the one word prompt "fill" found at 5 Minute Friday now hosted by Kate at the blog "heading home." This is meant to be a free write, which means: no editing, no over-thinking, no worrying about perfect grammar or punctuation.

Just write.

Also, the most important rule is that you visit the blog of the person who linked up before you and leave some encouragement.  That’s the most fun of all, and the heart of this community.

  1. Hi Jerralea! I agree that written words you can erase as they come out, spoken is a little tougher...
May we all be filled with the love and words of God, as we negotiate each and every day.

And by the way, I always like to read your words.
    Happy Weekend,
    Ceil

  2. I'm like you; I'm more introverted and like to listen more than talk (except I tend to write a lot, LOL)

So true about being careful to use our words wisely; I think that's why there's so much scripture about guarding our mouths and the words that come from them.
