I'm not going to lie - sometimes you have to mine deep to come up with highlights: some weeks have some bad things happen; most weeks have a sameness to them so that it is hard to come up with 5 things.
But they are always there if you look for them!
This week on the Journey has been just such a week - nothing new to report, but still there are good things:
1. Off the list: I did get a few jobs off the never-ending to-do list done last Saturday, so there's that. I do love checking things off the list! I also love a de-cluttered area and my desk in my home office looks much better. Inside the drawers in the desk? Not so much. Maybe next week!
2. Averted disaster: Last week, the person filling the baptistry forgot about it and it over-flowed. Big time. No, that's not the highlight! The highlight was that no lasting damage was done. The only thing that needed to be replaced was a phone jack. It could have been much worse. (Bonus - it wasn't me that did it. Thank you, Jesus!)
3. Sweet gesture: Right now, we are a one-car family. Jim needed the car on Tuesday so he took me to work and then picked me up. He surprised me with my favorite treat when he picked me up: a McDonald's sweet tea.
4. Comfortable climate: Heat was predicted but all-in-all it's been a good week, weather-wise. Those that know me best know I am not a fan of hot weather!
5. Quote of the week:
The stuff that concerns you will not matter once you are finally home.... Sheri Rose Shephard
And so ends another week on the Journey. I hope you had a great one and may your weekend be just what you need.
Glad there was no damage done. That could have been bad.
ReplyDeleteSweet little gestures are the best
Have a nice weekend :)
I'm glad the baptistry flood did cause a lot of damage. I'll bet the person who did it feels really bad. Have a blessed weekend.
ReplyDeleteA clean office is something to celebrate. I need some chair glue to work on mine this weekend.
ReplyDeleteThose small gestures can make my day!
love checking off a list! Great feeling it gives. Oh, so glad it wasn't you too! :) Feel sorry for the poor person who did it though.
ReplyDeleteYes, I have weeks like these... sameness.
I know just what you mean about FFF shortage weeks. Not everything is share-able and sometimes it's just a difficult week! But I'm glad you had some averted disasters. That bonus made me smile.
ReplyDeleteThat quote is a great reminder! What a nice, sweet gesture from your husband! Hope you have a week brimming with blessings coming up!
ReplyDeleteAwesome quote especially for some of us perfectionists!!! Wow...thank The Lord you, didn't have too much damage from, the water overflow!! Have a blessed week!
ReplyDeleteI look forward to a clean desk--in a few weeks. You give me encouragement :)
