Release Your Words

RELEASE
Some favorite words

Words are containers of power, it's been said.   Release them.

Just think of the pressure of having them bottled up inside of you!

Now, of course, there are some words you should never say because the power they contain is destructive.  Always, always, always think before you speak!

But if God has given you insight, if you've a story to tell, if you could just encourage one soul, then you need to release your words.

Some of us are led to speak to crowds with our words; some need to make a phone call or plan for one-on-one time to give (or receive) counsel.

Others are led to write their words, perhaps in a book or a diary.  What would it be like if we had never read the words of Anne Frank? Or Harper Lee?  Or any of the thousands, if not millions, of writers that have been such an influence on us.  What if David had not released the words of his Psalms, or Paul had not released his letters to the churches?

What if you held back from writing that encouraging word in a card or letter to a loved one, acquaintance, or even to a soldier or prisoner that you didn't even know? Would you be held accountable for not encouraging or exhorting if you had had the chance?

Don't hold back the words God gives you to encourage.  Release them.

Five Minute Friday

1. Write for 5 minutes flat – no editing, no over thinking, no backtracking.
2. Link back here and invite others to join in.
3. And then absolutely, no ifs, ands or buts about it, you need to visit the person who linked up before you & encourage them in their comments. Seriously. That is, like, the rule. And the fun. And the heart of this community..

Sounds like fun, yes?  If you want to join us, go to Lisa-Jo Baker.com.

  1. Jerralea, I love the idea of releasing words. God has released His Word in the world, and it has such great power! And, He uses our words to bless people, too. What a privilege. Thank you for your post. (I am signing in with my old blog account. It wouldn't let me leave the URL to my new blog.) Many blessings, Katy #FMFparty

  2. This is a great concept about releasing words; I'm good at releasing some but not all of my words; need to work a bit on that I think.

  3. Very thought provoking. It reminds me of my heart condition and as it says in the Bible - "Out of the abundance of the heart, the mouth speaks." That is a lot to think about! Have a lovely weekend.
