Nothing Else Will Work

NOTHING

If you are a child of God, you need to get one thing straight in your own mind.  What will make you give up on God and eternal life?

You better be sure the answer is:  nothing.  Nothing will make me turn back on Christ.

Be ready because the world will try its best to make you give up.  You see, people can't stand someone who brings conviction. You convict others when you do the right thing and they know they are not living right. Your living a godly life makes you a target to those who don't want anyone to think a person can stand above the norm. Worldly people want to bring you down to their level so they can feel good about themselves.

Little do they know that those living for Christ want to lift others up.  We are here to be encouragers of others.  We are not to condemn, but to point the way to right living.  We should be examples of purity and holiness and joy.

How do we do that?

Loving others as Christ loves us is the only thing that will impact our world.  Nothing else will work.

Nothing.

STOP

Please consider reading the following scriptures that I based my ideas upon:

Romans 8:35-39  Nothing separates us from His Love

John 3:17-19  Jesus came to save, not condemn

John 13:34-35  Love one another

1 Thessalonians 3:12   Increase in love toward all

Five Minute Friday

1. Write for 5 minutes flat – no editing, no over thinking, no backtracking.
2. Link back here and invite others to join in.
3. And then absolutely, no ifs, ands or buts about it, you need to visit the person who linked up before you & encourage them in their comments. Seriously. That is, like, the rule. And the fun. And the heart of this community..

Sounds like fun, yes?  If you want to join us, go to Lisa-Jo Baker.com.

  1. Thank you so much for this encouragement and challenge today! I have been thinking this week about loving others and being intentional and specific in showing love. Your post is very timely!

  2. So good! At Bible study today we read the parable of the sower. The fertile ground the found in the believer whose faith is strengthened during times of testing. Your post reminds me of that when you speak of conviction.

  3. I cannot think of a better thing to write about for "Nothing" as a prompt. This encouraged me and was something I really needed to read today. Thank you for writing this, as well as sharing those blessings of verses at the bottom.

I hope you had a great week ♥

  5. Well put! I spent much of my 20s around judgmental Christians, then I met a Christian woman who wasn't judgmental. She lived a good life and I was inspired by the example she set. THAT made me want to be more of a good Christian than all the gossipy people I met in my 20s.

  6. Well said...the prince of darkness who rules this earthly world is trying to choke us out!

One of these days, I'm going to do that 5 Minute Friday! What a very creative/good idea Lisa Jo has.
