Daybook: 04.28.14

FOR TODAY,  April 2014's last Monday

Outside my window... rain and gray skies
I am thinking...and praying for all those affected by last night's tornadoes.
I am thankful...even through natural disasters, you can see God's mercies.  They are always there, waiting to be found.
In the kitchen... fresh strawberries and angel food cake for tonight's dessert.  I'm planning to finally try a chicken roll-up recipe using crescent rolls that I've pinned eons ago.
I am wearing... navy blue pants, and a blue top that has flow-y sleeves, a flow-y hem and has sparkles on it. I feel so bohemian in it!
I am creating... a blog-post about barn paintings.  More on that later.
I am reading... a new Ace Collins' book, "Swope's Ridge."  Love him!
I am learning some days there is just nothing to say about some of the Daybook categories ...
I am pondering... two areas that need serious organizational interventions:  the linen closet, and a catch-all shelving unit in the utility.
A favorite quote for today...

"The RESULT of your faith is works."  - Ellston Chapman (one of the wisest men I know)
One of my favorite things... marking things done on my to-do list ... it's a sickness, really.
A few plans for the rest of the week: studying the book of Ruth.  I'm scheduled to speak on it at Wednesday's bible study on the 7th.  I would also like to find the time to get out my capris since Spring has shown up.

 A peek into my day...

Spring view across from my church

  1. I agree with "Im learning". Some weeks I look back and don't really see that I have learned much of anything. Some lessons are "reviews"! :)
Yes, we had bad storms here last night, Mr. was out working outages most the night. I haven't seen any news about damage in our area though.

  2. Such extreme weather devastation. Praying for those in the path...and hoping Katie and I aren't headed to the path of a tornado! :)

  3. I too have been praying for all those that were in the path of those deadly storms.

  4. I share your to-do list compulsion. There should be a 12-step program. "Hi, I'm ____, and I make to-do lists. If I do something not on the list, I write it down just so I can cross it off." :)

Weather has prompted lots of intercession recently, hasn't it? What a gift to know we can pray for strangers in crisis even without knowing their names, and God hears and answers.

Your bohemian top sounds pretty, and the view from your church definitely is. Blessed spring and Eastertide to you. You linked up ahead of me at Daybook.

  5. Yum, yum one of my favorite things angel food cake and strawberries!
Praying for those who were affected by the horrible storms.

Sometimes I will put things on the to do list I've already done just so I could have the pleasure of crossing them off. :)
