F.F.F. - 03.07.14

Happy first Friday in March - Spring is a little closer!

It's time to pause and reflect on a great week on the Journey.

1.  Home again:  Another winter storm blew by and I found myself home with time on my hands.  I had a great time cooking, cleaning and organizing.  Most of the time, my time at home is limited so when I am home I tend to go crazy with my to-do list.

2.  We've got the power:  A huge blessing is that during the storm our power never went out once, not even a flicker.  Thank you to those power-line workers who kept everyone going!

3. Play it again, Sam:  I'm thankful for a DVR that I can record programs and watch later.  During our time snowed in, hubby and I were able to snuggle up with afghans and hot cocoa and catch up on all our faves.  Netflix came in handy, too.

4. Drive, baby, drive:  When it finally became time to venture out again, things went really well.  I was able to drive my vehicle right out in spite of having had a lot of ice on the driveway.  Work has went well and I've been able to get back on track with my work schedule.  My time off was like an oasis of grace in the midst of my busy life.  However ... I'm done with storms!

5.  Quote of the week:

"You and I, living in a changing world, need the Word of God to stabilize us."  Anne Graham Lotz in "I Saw the Lord"

So true, Anne! No matter how the world changes, the Word is still relevant, which is why the Word is life-changing and like no other book.

And so ends another week on the Journey.  How did your week go?  Were you  holed up in your little haven as a storm blew by?  Tell us all about it!  Leave a comment or link up at Susanne's Living to Tell the Story.

  1. Yes, That is a great quote!
I am terribly afraid of ice now. I stayed home Monday because of ice and it was a blessing because I had so much to get caught up on! I tend to worry a little about the power when ice starts forming. It can snow like crazy and not bother me but when the ice comes...oh boy!

  2. LOVE the quote and I can't imagine my life without turning to the Word of God.I never want to take the scriptures for granted. For once we made it through 3 weeks of NO STORM!! WHOO HOO!!! things are starting to melt here in eastern NY...although the first few days this week were downright frigid!! I'm thankful for sunshine and a balmy 36 degrees today :) Happy Weekend, Jerralea.

  3. Glad you made the most of your snowed in days and were able to watch some great shows all snug as a bug. Glad you were able to navigate the roads when you needed to! Have a great weekend.

  5. Your description of what you did during the storm is one of the biggest reasons I actually ENJOY a good storm. As long as everyone is safe and we don't lose power, it can be a lovely time!
