Daybook: 09-09-13

FOR TODAY, MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 9

Outside my window...
a typical sunny summer day

I am thinking... about my list of projects I want to do.  I'm hoping to have a good balance of rest, accomplishment and visiting with relatives on my staycation.  It's going to be challenging!

I am thankful... my children were born healthy.  Why none of them ever even had to have tubes in their ears, or tonsils taken out, had stitches or broken bones! I am blessed!

In the kitchen... chicken in the crockpot ... may have chicken and rice tonight

I am wearing...
black capris and black and white flowered top

I am reading... Ace Collins' book, "Jefferson Burke and the Lost Scroll."  It's hard to stop reading and go do my work!

I am looking forward to... my staycation - next week.

A favorite quote for today...

"Are we busy building our own kingdom?  Feathering our own nest? Building our reputation instead of seeking His kingdom?" [my pastor, Travis Schroeder]

Food for thought ... sometimes we need to examine our motives. Is my life really about living for Christ, or is it more about advancing my goals and ideas?

One of my favorite things... is the feeling of accomplishment when all goes according to plan.

A few plans for the rest of the week: a lot of things have to be done at work in order to be ready to take off for my staycation so my plan is to work, work, work this week so I can enjoy next week..  I'm having company for dinner on Tuesday, so making chicken and dumplings is in order.  Sometime this week, I must clean out my fridge!!!

A peek into my day...

  1. Jerralea, thank you for sharing the quote from your pastor. It does give one something to think about.

Your chicken and dumplings you are going to fix when you have company sounds WONDERFUL! Definitely some major comfort food there!

  2. HI Jerralea! How was your dinner yesterday? Did you have a good time?

I like hearing about your day and week plans. Makes me get to know you a bit. I loved the photo of you and your daughter, I peeked at your earlier blogpost. What a gorgeous girl! Takes after her Mom :)

I hope you have a fab 'staycation'. Hope you can clear your work and calendar to relax and refresh.
