Daybook: 08-12-13

FOR TODAY, MONDAY, AUGUST 12TH

Outside my window...
a pearly gray day ... 80° so far ...

I am thinking...it's time I posted.  I usually post two times on Friday, but this Friday was just too busy...

I am thankful... that the scale finally moved down 2 lbs!  I was stuck on a plateau for 2 weeks ...

In the kitchen... something simple and quick tonight for I have a lot of bookwork to do, so it will be homemade hamburger helper.

I am wearing... black dress capris and a black and white wrap top that I found at a yard sale.  I feel frugal and stylish at the same time - love it!

I am creating... some new blog categories: Feast for the Eyes (home decor), Feast for the Soul (scriptural essays) and Feast for the Body (recipes).  I think those subjects cover the things I'm most interested in. More about this in future blog posts.

I am reading... Beverly Lewis' book, "The Fiddler."

I am hoping... and praying for one of my besties today who is recovering from emergency surgery.  Can't wait for her to be better and for us and our spouses to go on date night.

I am looking forward to... my staycation in September.  My mom and other relatives are planning to be here and I'm going to enjoy every day with them!

A favorite quote for today.

Alone times are God's way of saying, "Don't rely on a preacher or a Sunday worship place. You can find me here, too." Solitude is a gift.

Most people don't think of alone time being a great blessing, but it definitely can be - if you open your thoughts to "God, what do you have for me today?"

One of my favorite things... finding a bargain.  I got the cutest birdhouse bench at a yard sale for only $2!

A few plans for the rest of the week: continuing my 15th week of exercising, bookkeeping, and a board meeting on Thursday.

A peek into my day...

The daybook is a concept created by Peggy Hostetler.  You can link up at her blog, The Simple Woman's Daybook.

  2. Dear Jerralea
I think that alone time we spend with our God where we our hearts really touch Him, is the best times in life. I would love to see your black dress capris!

  4. Love the bench. How sweet is that! Great deal, too. I need to categorize stuff better on my blog. Maybe you'll inspire me in that way too!

  5. Sounds like you've got a lot of fun things going on. And I love getting a good bargain too. Some of my favorite things are finds at Goodwill. It doesn't always happen every time I duck in there -- but sometimes it does.
