1. Cooler weather: the days this week, except for Monday, have all been in the low eighties. I love days like that! I'm anticipating this coming week as well because it will be mid seventies and very little rain. Yay!
2. Resting by the river: On Saturday, we took a quick trip to relax on the banks of the Ohio River. We found a shady spot and stayed till dusk.
Shady place
Watching the boats go by
Observing nature ...
We weren't the only ones enjoying the picnic area ...
Dusk ...
Jim took this photo of two twin sunbeams on the river
3. 3 Mile Walk - I hope I'm not boring you all to death with my exercise goals but reporting my successes each week helps keep me accountable. This is my 12th week and I embarked on the 3 mile walk each day. This workout is way more intense so hopefully I will start seeing better results in a couple weeks.
4. Dinner out with friends: Sunday we went to dinner and Pastor and his family joined up with us at the Grecian Steak House. We love that little restaurant. Great food at a great price. Where else can you get a steak dinner for $8.
5. Quote of the Week:
Don't look back! You're not going
that way!
… seen on twitter
So true! It's hard to make progress if you are constantly looking backwards. You can't change yesterday - press on ahead!
And so ends another week on the Journey. How was your week? Would you like to share your highlights? If so, link up at Susanne's blog, Living to Tell the Story.
Your pictures are beautiful! And I love that quote. Kudos to you for your three mile mark!!
ReplyDeleteHave a great week ahead.
Oh I got to hear Tammy Trent's testimony at a women of faith conference several yrs ago when they were here in Albany, NY. That's a great quote. Yeah for your walking...I did a 3 mile one this week too even though my daily average is usually 2.3 but we finally have NO high heat or humidity so I walked longer and faster:) enjoy your weekend....the steak place sounds great!
ReplyDeleteIt's nice to have a break in the summer temperatures.
ReplyDeleteThe visit to the river sounds so refreshing and enjoyable. The dinner with friends, too!
Well as you know your exercise goals and accomplishments are anything but boring. You've been motivating me! Maybe I need to start blogging a bit about it too so that I can start making some real progress.
ReplyDeleteGood eye catching the twin sunbeams on water. I don't think I've ever seen that happen.
Awesome quote! Great progress on the exercise. I keep hopping off and on the wagon. Perhaps I need some accountability.
ReplyDeleteCooler in July? Almost sounds like you're in the southern hemisphere! Hurray for 80s and 70s!
ReplyDeleteMmmm. I love your quick relaxing trips. And that steakhouse sounds like a winner! Good food at an amazing price!
