Daybook: 07.15.13

FOR TODAY, MONDAY, JULY 15TH

Outside my window... a beautiful summer day ...

I am thinking... of friends who are hurting over their child's choices.  I'm praying peace and restoration for them.

I am thankful...for all my blessings.  God is just so good to me!  I can't help it, in spite of life's difficulties, I just view life as a wonderful gift and I try to enjoy every minute of it.

In the kitchen... grilled hot dogs, baked beans, Granny's sliced cucumbers ...

I am wearing... black capris and a new top I found yard saling:  green, turquoise and black jungle print.

I am wondering...what God has in store.  There is going to be a pastoral change at the church where I work.  Of course, it is no surprise to God, and I'm wondering who He has planned to be the new pastor.

I am reading... "Unwritten," by Charles Martin

I am hoping... for God's will to be done in a certain situation.  He knows what I don't know! I know what He chooses will be best.

I am looking forward to... next weekend. I'm planning a visit to go see a friend I haven't seen in a while.

I am learning ... to just make myself do the unpleasant things.  I quote Nike all the time:  "Just Do It."  No second guessing or talking myself out of it.  Just Do It.

Around the house... dust ... I need to get out the Pledge!

I am pondering... thoughts from Pastor's sermon last night ...

Eat Up, Grow Up and Give It Up - based on 1 Peter 2:1-3

Do we desire the "milk" of the word as much as a baby desires his bottle?  When a baby gets hungry, he screams, cries, roots around until he gets what he wants.  Would we desire our time in the Word as much as he desired the bottle?

A favorite quote for today...

Christ not only sees our excitement, He sees our exhaustion. Beth Moore

One of my favorite things... lazing at the lake

A few plans for the rest of the week: Tuesday, I'm getting a pedicure; working on financial reports for a board meeting (Thursday) at my part-time church; visiting a friend Saturday.

A peek into my day...

Sunset at our favorite lake ...

  1. I am so glad He sees my exhaustion. I know He is just waiting for me to bring it to Him so He can renew and refresh me.

I'm reading that book now too. Will probably finish it in the next couple of days.

  2. those decisions our kids make sometimes hurt very bad. i will be praying with you. Sounds like a great sermon! God's plans are ALWAYS way better than anything we could come up with on our own. Usually grows us and stretches us in ways we never dreamed.
