But, as it is written,
“What no eye has seen, nor ear heard,
nor the heart of man imagined,
what God has prepared for those who love him”—
nor the heart of man imagined,
what God has prepared for those who love him”—
1 Corinthians 2:9
Imagination is one of the ways I coped as a child when unpleasant things came my way. If I was sad or feeling blue, I'd just get busy and imagine a whole new set of circumstances.
Later on in life, I heard of 1 Corinthians 2:9. What a thrill! Since I had such an active imagination, it was neat to know that God had even BETTER stuff for me than I could dream.
Of course, if you read all of the second chapter of ! Corinthians, you realize that God's plan of grace is what God has prepared for us. A plan so audacious that man could never come up with anything even close. Think about it. The King of glory would be willing to give up His throne for a time and come down here and live a simple life with us. Then, when the time was right, He would allow Himself to be crucified and punished for all our sins - when He had not done anything wrong!
But that wasn't all - His plan included letting a repentant soul receive salvation for free! To top it off, He then grafts that person into His family and calls us brothers and sisters - joint-heirs, if you will.
He then says, If you will abide in Me, and my words abide in you, you can ask what you will and it SHALL BE DONE!" (See John 15:7)
Even I couldn't imagine anything like that - yet, it is totally true.
Wow!

ReplyDeleteDear Jerralea
ReplyDeleteTruth be told; His plan of redemption still takes my breath away!! At times I cannot wait for our Lord Jesus to return until I think of those I love who still are not in His Kingdom. Then I usually ask Him to wait just a little while more and save my loved ones.
Much love, my friend
