F.F.F.-04.20.12

It's a lovely Friday in April.  Tomorrow, it may be 71° around here!

1.  I hope you had a lovely Easter.  We certainly did.  I'm here to report the Easter music program went very well (thanks to all who prayed).  We had lovely reviews and requests to do the songs again.  I'm very pleased.

2.  I also enjoyed Easter dinner at my favorite restaurant, O'Charley's with two of our three daughters.  While we certainly missed our daughter and son-in-law, we had a good time with Malia and Elissa.  Love family dinners!

3.  The rest of the week was pretty uneventful except for a couple days where I got caught up in some debates at a couple of Christian blogs.  It was upsetting to me because I feel that comments should be done in a Christ-like manner.  Yes, you certainly have a right to express disagreement, but please remember this is your brother or sister in Christ and treat them accordingly. After some reflection, I realized how thankful I am to blog in the communities that I do, and how wonderful all of YOU are.  I also did some re-evaluating of the message I feel that God leads me in sharing on this blog. I am so happy that He has led me to encourage and  to focus on the positive.  And may He give me lots of strength and courage if He lays a controversial message on my heart.

4.  The work week has went by smoothly, and I give the Lord thanks for a job that I love.  To have a job you enjoy is a great blessing in today's world.

5.  Quote of the Week:

Over 100 times in the Bible, the Lord says to His people "Fear Not." You have been delivered from fear. Don't touch it with your thoughts. ... seen on twitter

I love this quote because of a very important principal:  "Don't touch fear with your thoughts."  The minute you entertain fear, it takes up residence in your mind, and you literally have to kick it out. This quote goes with my fearless series as well as my post written this week:  Our Peace is in Him.  The opposite of fear is peace.  Fill your life with more of Him and fear will shrink away.

Thus ends another week on the Journey.  How did your week go?  If you'd like to join us by highlighting 5 good things in your week, link up at Susanne's blog, Living to Tell the Story.

  1. So glad the Easter program went so well!

It is sad when Christians act so ungodly in their online comments. Sometimes controversial things do come up -- the Bible doesn't shy away from them -- but we so need to exercise grace when discussing them.

  2. Love the pictures of your family and I'm so glad you were able to celebrate Easter with at least a couple of your girls!

It really is a blessing to have a job you love!
