Thankful for Food

If you are like me, you enjoy your food.  I think there are a lot of people who consider themselves a "foodie."  Not only do they enjoy eating it, they are all about cooking it, styling it and photographing it.

I'm thankful that God made so many different kinds of food and gave cooks the creativity to cook it in such a way that it tempts our tastebuds. What if He had made one superfood that supplied all the nutrients we needed, and that was it.  How boring it would be!

There's something about breaking bread together that bonds people.  The whole process of starting with raw ingredients and assembling it into an aromatic concoction that you serve with love to family and friends is a powerful thing. We hear a lot about the importance of the family table.  I'm in total agreement with the concept.  Eating together as a family brings you closer together.  When friends join you for a meal, they begin to feel like family, too.

I think the first step to build unity among people is to begin with a meal.

All during the month of November, I will be sharing my gratitude for all God has given me. I'm joining Joyful Reader on her Giving Thanks Challenge at her blog, Encouragement for Daily Bible Reading.

I'm linking this post with Jennifer's blog, Getting Down With Jesus, because it is no coincidence that God made all foods for us to enjoy.

  1. I love to bake! This weekend I am planning on making bread. Our store shelves are empty around here of bread. I however will not panic as I know how to and love to make bread. I wish I were a "foodie" I love to cook but am not very creative.

  3. Love this post. I'm all about the food, cooking it and nothing more special than having everyone eat together on a regular basis.
