Just Stay

On Fridays, I love to stretch myself by participating in Lisa-Jo's 5 minute Friday blog party.  Lisa-Jo gives us a word and we write for 5 minutes, writing from the heart, and not doing endless revisions of what we have written.  Just plain and simple off-the-cuff writing.  Visit her at her blog, Lisa-Jo Baker: tales from a Gypsy Mama, if you would like to participate.

STAY

I think in today's world, people are prone to leaving.  If something makes them uncomfortable, no problem, they think, "I'm outta here."  The liberty that we so cherish sometimes becomes our downfall because we think we are free to come and go as we like.

Sometimes the mature thing is to stay and tough it out.  Leaving solves nothing.  In fact, it seems to me that people who leave will often find themselves smack dab in the middle of another similar situation.

Why not stay?  Why not work through the thing?  You're going to have to, sooner or later.  Why not now?

Don't listen to the enemy who likes to whisper that things are always better at the next town, the next job, the next friendship, the next church ... even the next marriage.

Stay and work it out.

You can get help.  God will give you the direction  and the peace you need.  Just keep your focus on Him, and everything else will work out.

Isaiah 26:3 (NKJV)

You will keep him in perfect peace,
Whose mind is stayed on You,
Because he trusts in You.

Just trust Him.

STOP

  1. So true. While sometimes a fresh start is just what the doctor ordered more often than not we need to stay and deal with the problems head on!
    Keep up the God work.

  3. I love this. God really is in the business of restoration. He can make the wrong things right. Thankful He gives me the courage to stay even in those times when I want to turn and run.
