FFF-08.17.12

It's lovely Friday, again!  It's time to recap the highlights of my week.

1.  Frugal Fashionista:  I forgot to take a picture, but one day this week I wore an outfit totally bought at yardsales.  Dark brown pants:  $1.00; Cream top with red and dark brown print:  $2.00; and a pair of cork wedges (dark brown):  $3.00.  I was pleased to think that for less than $10, I had a new look.

2.  Family Fellowship:  This has been a great week of visiting relatives.  My mom is still visiting here and we got together several times for dinner. Last night, we met my uncle and aunt for dinner.  Love those times of catching up on each other's lives!

My uncle and aunt, rockin' at the Cracker Barrel

3. FFF - Thanks to all you wonderful Friday's Fave Five bloggers who are so faithful to comment - even on the weeks that I don't have time to return the favor.  FFF bloggers are the best!

4. Fewer High Temps:  Thankfully, we've been out of the 100° weather this week, and the next 4-5 days will be in the 80s!  Praise the Lord!  I do not like hot weather so I'm especially excited about cooler days.

5. Favorite quote to ponder:

His (Moses) secret was to continue doing the next right thing that God revealed.
…David Jeremiah, Today’s Turning Point Devotional “Life Map” 08.10.12

Just continue doing the last thing God told you to do, until He (not other people) tells you a new thing to do.

  1. I love that your faves all began with F!! (last week mine began with P LOL)....it's great that you got to spend time with extended family..so important...and yay for that quote!! that is almost like a confirmation for me regarding a situation I am in with some back pain. Tons of people are giving me "advice" yet God has quietly whispered for me to stay put with what I am doing right now.....i hope you enjoy a nice weekend!!

  2. I love your #1 and your #4! And that's great advice -- keep doing the last thing God told you to do until he tells you something else. I need to remember that. Have a great week ahead.

  3. Ah, yes, I think I lived with that David Jeremiah quote this week! I love your frugal fashionista day. Sometimes I do that, too; add up the cost of my outfit and smile at the total :-)

  4. Jeremiah's statement is a great one to remember--just keeping doing what you're doing until God changes your direction.
    Oh--frugal fashionista! You go, girl!
Enjoy your family--it's funny, I recognized that your aunt and uncle were at Cracker Barrel. There's one in Phoenix that I visited a couple of years ago and it looked just like that!

  5. Gotta love a cheap outfit! I've been finding dresses appropriate for work as cheap as $2 at Ross recently. A find like that always makes my day!

That quote is so right, we only need to do the next thing that God asks us to do. . . and we don't always need to know what comes next after that (even though sometimes we think we should know)
