Daybook - 07.30.12

FOR TODAY, MONDAY, JULY 30

Outside my window... bright sunshine and HOT, HOT, HOT weather.  (I'm going to keep saying this until it changes.

I am thinking... about taking a nap ... just because I can!

I am thankful...to have three weeks of paid vacation a year. It's a blessing to have time away from work.

In the kitchen...spaghetti and garlic bread today, baked barbecue chicken, and beans and cornbread.  The rest of the week, I'll be on vacation.

I am wearing...cream-colored capris and a turquoise top and flip-flops.  I'm home this week, so I'm not dressing up.

I am creating...a pedestal dish made out of cute plates and candlesticks.  I'll share next week if it turns out cute.  ;)

I am going... no where today!  So excited to stay home!

I am reading... a biography about Bonhoeffer ...still ...

I am looking forward to... going to my sister's in the mountains of Tennessee.

Around the house... projects to be done ... if I feel like doing them.

A favorite quote for today...

Joy is the fruit of gratitude.
… Ann Voskamp, 1000 Gifts

How can you help but be joyful when you realize all you've been given?

One of my favorite things... Better Homes and Garden magazines.  I'm always excited when a new one comes to my mailbox.

A few plans for the rest of the week
: hanging around the house for three days, then off to Tennessee.

A peek into my day...

I believe a salad may be in my future ...
