Friday's Fave Five - June 8, 2012

It's a gorgeous June Friday, and time to reflect on the good things that happened in my week.  If you'd like to do the same, link up at Susanne's blog, Living To Tell The Story.

1.  My first favorite for the week is the fact that my blog got a new look.  Our daughter, Liss, created a new look for Jerralea's Journey, and I love it.  I'm proud to say that the photos in the header are places we have visited in our part of the country.  All the photos were taken by moi!  I just need to fix the "About Me" and "Top Posts" pages.

2.  My new coffeemaker:  I have a new Black and Decker "Brew 'n Go Personal Coffeemaker" that I earned using Swagbucks.  Way cheaper than a Keurig, it makes one cup at a time.  Now, I can experiment with flavored coffees and creamers to my heart's content.  (No one else likes them.)  I've also tried it to make coffee flavored smoothies and iced coffees. I'm having fun experimenting.

3.  This coming Saturday is our youngest daughter's 19th birthday.  She will be out of town this weekend, so we got together Thursday night for her birthday dinner, and of course, a photo op.

Malia and Dad

Two of our three beauties!

4.  My knockout rose bush is blooming.  This morning, I counted six roses, and looks like there are two more about to bloom.

... looks like I'm need to put some mulch down ...

5.  Favorite Post to write:  Although painful, it felt cathartic to write "Dear Hope," the true story of relationship destroyed, unfortunately, by me. I am so glad there is grace and forgiveness available for the truly repentant!

  1. Your blog's new look is very nice!

I'll have to tell my son about the coffeemaker. There is a Keurig where he works but it is too expensive for him to buy one.

    Happy Birthday to your daughter!

    Your roses are pretty!

I am thankful for God's grace and forgiveness as well.

  2. The new look is very fresh and springy. Love the header. I've been wanting to do something like that with my blog too but haven't had the guts to experiment.

    Happy birthday to your girl.

That sounds like my kind of coffeemaker. No here likes the flavored coffee except me so that would be nice.

  3. Like your new look!

I read your post. What a hard lesson, so sweet and true. And wonderful that you learned from it and are willing to share that, too.

I know what you mean about writing being cathartic. My son wrote a post this week about his accident and recovery, and it was such a good exercise for him. Hard, but good.
