Tea Talk - Thursday, January 13, 2011

1. I'm having...Irish Breakfast Tea in my Southeast Missouri State Mom coffee mug. I got this mug when my daughter started SEMO.  Now she has graduated and is in her second year of teaching high school math. I drink out of this mug nearly every morning as I sit at the computer and blog.

2. I'm feeling....a little tired ... not quite ready to start my day.

3. On my mind....the upcoming annual business meeting at my church.  I've been procrastinating and I need to get the report done.  Ok, I need to at least start the report!

4. A quotation to encourage:

"It’s important to have a twinkle in your wrinkle"  (Anon)

This little quote makes me realize that as we mature we should be focusing on the things that bring us joy.  Our eyes should always be sparkling with interest in what we are doing - it makes the crow's feet less noticeable!

Besides, is there anything more pathetic than a dried up prune-y old person who's mad at the world?

  2. I love the quote--and I agree, there is nothing worse than a mean, pruney old person! I hope to be like my (maternal) grandma who lived to be 93 and always had a smile on her face and a laugh in her heart!!

  3. "a twinkle in your wrinkle" made me smile. Love the rhyme and the humor and I so agree with it. I just pray I grow old gracefully and not become grumpy. I know that is only possible if I keep the joy of the lord in my heart.

Thank you for sharing tea with us today, Jerralea. It's a pleasure to be in your company.

    Blessings!

  4. "dried up prune-y old person who's mad at the world" cracked me up. Why? Because that's exactly how my friends and i tease each other when we feel stressed out, and then we laugh :D That's a charming cup. And I love the quotation.

  5. Hello~ So nice to have tea with you! I am also procrastinating on a project...paying taxes! I like your quote also. What a nice thing to remember and think about as I notice I am getting greyer.

    God bless you good today.

  6. You are right....an old person who is in love with life looks much younger - and attracts people to them like bees to honey.

    Great mug, BTW!
