The Simple Woman's Daybook - October 4, 2010

FOR TODAY, OCTOBER 4, 2010

Outside my window...the sun is making its appearance.  It's chilly, 39°!
I am thinking... of that old kids' song, "I Am A Promise With A Capital P."  I'm thinking why is that only considered a kids' song?  In Christ, we are all great big bundles of potentiality! Jeremiah 29:11 says that He has plans for us to give us a future and an expected end. That is true no matter what our age!
I am thankful for...for all the little joys in my life!
From the kitchen...probably will make home made hamburger helper.  Tomorrow, roast and carrots in the crock pot.
I am wearing...black pants, fuschia top and black cardigan.  Also, shoes and socks instead of sandals - it's cold!
I am creating...a new devotional
I am going... to spend more time in the Word.
I am reading... nothing right now.
I am hoping... that everything goes smoothly for my daughter's wedding.
I am hearing... peace and quiet.
Around the house... things are looking good!
One of my favorite things... my fall table runners.  I love them and have used them for about 5 years now.  My daughter thinks I should get different ones! Silly girl, what is she thinking?
A few plans for the rest of the week: working ahead on some lesson ideas, getting my coupon-clipping caught up, making an appointment to get my hair done.
Here is picture for thought I am sharing...

This is my middle daughter when she was a baby ... Next month, she's getting married!  Where has the time gone?

  1. It is chilly willy here today too! I don't think we are as cold as you - because we're only supposed to go down to 46 tonight - but it's only 53 at 4pm! Haven't seen the sun all day...

I know your daughter's wedding is going to be beautiful. I am in the process of planning a Baby Shower right now... I think someone needs to give ME a Nana Shower though! LOL!

  2. I like fall table runners, too. I got candle wax in my favorite one. Wish I knew how to get it out! :-)

Hope your daughter's wedding is a wonderful time for all of you.

  3. This is a good idea a day book. It is a nice fall day here and the sun it bouncing off my burning bush. I so made use of my crock pot this past week.

I haven't decorated much for Fall this year, and I would like to, perhaps today is a good day.

This exercise that you often do in the US coupon clipping, I'm jealous. I visit my daughter in NC and she is a notorious coupon clipper and she made herself a binder and hauls that off to the store and saves a bunch of money each visit. We don't have coupons like you do. No kidding, I wish sometimes we did. We go on line and print some but it sort of takes the fun out of the real thing.
