The Simple Woman's Daybook, September 13, 2010

FOR TODAY, SEPTEMBER 13, 2010

Outside my window... a slightly overcast day that is predicted to turn into a sunny day.  Right now, it's 55°, and I'm loving it.
I am thinking... about what a pastor's wife shared with me:  "Shepherds don't increase the flock. Shepherds don't have sheep, sheep have sheep."  We always expect the Pastor to grow the church.  That's not his job.  His job is to protect the sheep, feed the sheep and care for them.  It's our job to multiply!
I am thankful for... grace!
From the kitchen... lemon-pepper pork chops and broccoli and cheese for dinner.   Tomorrow, pinto beans and cornbread.
I am wearing... a black tank dress with a coral bolero.  Of course, black jewelry and sandals!
I am creating... some photo collages of our retreat.
I am going... to do my regular routine this week.  No extra meetings are scheduled - I can stay home every night! Yay!
I am reading...nothing new right now.
I am hoping... to get caught up on my rest ... yeah, right!
I am hearing... one daughter getting ready for work.  I must check to see if the other daughter is up yet ...
Around the house... things are pretty well in their place ... I love that!
One of my favorite things...a worship service where you feel the Holy Spirit moving.  We had one Sunday morning and it was so awesome!
A few plans for the rest of the week: I want to declutter and re-arrange my desk. I've been reading Centsational Girl's blog post "Where Do You Blog" and it's making me feel guilty for having a messy desk! I also plan to post either on Tuesday or Wednesday my devotional that I gave at the retreat
Here is picture for thought I am sharing...

One of my favorite things - a photo of a path.

I find that participating in this simple daybook exercise makes me more intentional about the things I do in my week.  If you'd like to join in, visit Peggy Hostetler's The Simple Woman's Daybook.

  1. Thanks for your comment. It is funny that you mentioned that I used "he" for my assistant. I waffled back and forth over "he", "she", or "(s)he" and decided my assistant was a man! :)

Decluttering... wow... both my home and work desks are disaster areas! I need to get inspired to declutter too!
