Friday has rolled around again. It's time to join Susanne at Living to Tell the Story and reflect on five favorites of our week.
1. It's gotten cool enough to once again have my favorite early-morning beverage, hot tea. I like it best in my cup that bears the college logo of the school my oldest daughter attended.
2. It's also cool enough to have my favorite fall dish - chili!
3. Fall also means the ceiling fans are off, so now I can burn candles! Last night, I lit one of my favorite scents, banana cream pie.
4. As I have shared elsewhere on my blog, my boss recently suffered a light stroke. I, along with many others, have been praying for him. He is slowly improving and taking therapy. My favorite this week is that he was able to come to the office for an hour.
5. I love to collect favorite quotes. Here is another one I found this week: Catherine Martin writes in Passionate Prayer “The time you spend with God in private will make you who you are in public.”
To see other favorites, visit Susanne at Living to Tell the Story. She is not feeling well today, so drop by and say hello and pray for her.
Oh yes! I'm with you on teh chili, for sure! I LOVE fall.
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful weekend!
hope to make large pot chilli this weekend
ReplyDeleteI love hot tea, too, and it's nice to be able to have it again :-) Sounds like you are loving fall! Hope your boss recovers completely and regains his strength.
ReplyDeleteOoh, I love chili too. This is a great reminder that I need to make some very soon - maybe tonight? Glad your boss is making improvements, even if slow ones. Your quote is wonderful. I'll have to tweet that back out today.
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful quote! I'm going to print that one as it says a lot to me. Thank you!
ReplyDeleteI love it when it's cool enough for Tea and chili too. We had a bit of cool and now it's 90 here today...ugh.
ReplyDeleteHave a good weekend...
Hi...thanks for stopping by. I'm drinking a cup of tea as I read this so I definitely love your #1!
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful weekend...Joyce
I like afternoon tea. But not right now. It's 99 today in SoCal!
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend!
Great friday fave's. I like that quote as well.
ReplyDeleteLast week we had soup twice and chili once for dinner. Yep. I like the fall weather, too.
ReplyDeleteAnd that Catherine Martin quote? I love it!!!
I love hot tea in Autumn too -- and winter. But I'm more tea in the afternoon -- I still like my coffee in the morning. Though this morning I had neither ... time just wasn't on my side. If I can't linger with my coffee and enjoy it, then there is no sense having it! :)
ReplyDeleteHurray for your boss! That is wonderful! Baby steps, baby steps! Eventually you get there! God is so good!
I came across a quote today that is sO similar -- I can't remember who said it at the moment, but it was The way we spend our days is the way we spend our lives. I really LIKED that!
Jerri - I just want to thank you for the comment you left on my blog today - it put a great BIG smile on my face! I'm glad that you see that in me! I hope others do too!
Enjoyed your list and share several of your favorites...the quote was beautiful...
ReplyDeleteI always forget about this meme until Friday night when I read yours...one day I will share a post on this....
I don't drink coffee much during the year, but I do drink it more in cool weather, so I have been enjoying it this week. I love pulling out fall recipes, too.
ReplyDeleteI am so glad your boss is doing better.
Wow! I love the quote! So inspirational.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great quote! I love it. Actually, I always look forward to seeing if you are sharing a quote this week.
ReplyDeleteSo glad you boss is on the mend!
Have a wonderful week!
I missed you the past weeks.
ReplyDeleteGuess what? I just made a huge pot of Chilli. Great minds think alike. I'm also a person of quotes...
Great Five!
Love that quote!
ReplyDeleteI've yet to make chili but the fall comfort food cooking has begun here too.
I've been burning a couple favorite candles already too. One from Bath and Body called "Leaves" and one called "Pumpkin Bread".
Hope your boss is feeling much better soon!
Hmm Banana cream pie sounds like a great scent.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you are enjoying your fall weather and that your boss is recovering.
Great quote.
ReplyDeleteI can almost smell your candle from here....mmmmmmmmmmmmm....enjoy!
