Thankful Thursday - Freedom

Today's hostess for Thankful Thursday is Lynn at Spiritually Unequal Marriage. She has chosen the topic of freedom.

I am certainly thankful for the freedom I enjoy as a citizen of America. What a blessing! I do not know why God allowed me to be born in a free country, but I am so grateful that He did.

There are other freedoms I am thankful for - spiritual freedoms.

Freedom from sin -I can have victory over sin and death through Christ Jesus!

"The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law. But thanks be to God! He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ." 1 Corinthians 15:56-57 NIV

Freedom from the law -

"For you have been called to live in freedom, my brothers and sisters. But don’t use your freedom to satisfy your sinful nature. Instead, use your freedom to serve one another in love. For the whole law can be summed up in this one command: “Love your neighbor as yourself.” Galatians 5:13-14 NLT

Freedom to choose - It's up to me whether I want to live for God or not.

"But if serving the LORD seems undesirable to you, then choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve ... But as for me and my household, we will serve the LORD." Joshua 24:15 NIV

What freedoms are you thankful for?
