What a huge difference! All day, I sat in wonder because I could now. Really. See. It was so much easier to read my computer monitor and to do my work simply because I could now effortlessly see. It's so funny that I didn't even realize how dim the room was because the light bulbs gradually gave out less light.
Light is a game-changer.
It's amazing what you can see in the light. For instance, often when we have a snowfall, the skies are cloudy and gray while flakes are tumbling down. After the snow has fallen, the sun will burst through and turn the softly blanketed grounds into a glistening crystalline cover. It's the same snow, but the light made all the difference.

Another example I've frequently experienced is sunbeams glistening on the water. What a dazzling display of light! I've often imagined the beams looking like stars or even a stairway to heaven. So beautiful and radiant!
In the same way, when Light comes to a life that has been experiencing dark times, it is just as dramatic as a sunrise. Things that should have been plain as day are now revealed to you. You smack yourself on the head saying, "why couldn't I see that before?" You couldn't see the obvious because your focus was wrong. You were looking in the dark - in negative gloomy despair. Truth can never be found there!
Like a moth to a flame, set your sights on being drawn to the true Light. He promises to be found if you look for Him.

Amen! And like the light over your desk sometimes we the light in our lives grows faint so gradually we do not notice until it is truly dark. Here's to "seeing the light"!~May
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely the Light of the world will be found for all those that seek him! Great thoughts about light. Its one of those things that we take for granted until it is gone from us (like in a power outage and everything is dark).

Great inspiration and so true too! If only more people could see things this way, eh? ;-)
ReplyDeleteGreat post. I think of the verse in Psalm 119 - "Thy word is a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path." His light can guide us if we only let it.
ReplyDeleteI loved reading this and that photo of the lake is spectacular!! Thank you for sharing your thoughts on light and the Light!!
ReplyDeleteHi Jerralea! What a beautiful study on light and 'glistening'. Congrats on the new bulbs in your office, you are so right! Light makes all the difference.
ReplyDeleteI also like moonlight. Even though it's a mere reflection of the sun, the moons light pierces the dark of night. So inspirational!
Happy Friday!

What a difference a lightbulb makes!
ReplyDeleteI love the other comments. Melanie Cook commented with Psalm 119. I love it. And I love the post.
