The Journey's Weekly Check-Up #3

These three always make me smile:

Share something that made you think:

This week, I was reading John 14:23 and saw something I’d never considered before:

Jesus answered and said to him, “If anyone loves Me, he will keep My word; and My Father will love him, and We will come to him and make Our home with him. John 14:23 NKJV

Somehow, I’d never considered before that BOTH the Father and the Son come to live in me. I know when I repent and accept God’s gift of grace, I received the Holy Spirit as a seal over my life. (See Ephesians 1:13).

What this tells me is this: As I love and obey Him, I receive all of who God is – Father, Son, and Holy Spirit!

So … shouldn’t I give Him all of who I am?

Share a win from this week:

At my job, I managed to get 5 days of work done in 3; got everything prepared for my fill-in secretary to do while I’m off this week, got all 3 of my blog posts for the week published, AND cooked Thanksgiving Dinner in a timely manner.  I AM WOMAN; HEAR ME ROAR!

Share a great quote:

 “The past is a foreign country.  They do things differently there.” - L.P. Hartley

We don't live there ....

Share a song or a scripture that ministered to you

A lot of thoughts come to me while listening to sermons. Sunday, Pastor was talking about pursuing our passion. He made a lot of good points. The song, My Jesus I Love Thee, came to me. I love the phrase, “I know thou art mine.” It’s a very old hymn written in 1864 by William R. Featherstone; but it still speaks to us today. Here is my favorite verse of the song:

I love Thee because Thou hast first loved me,
And purchased my pardon on Calvary's tree;
I love Thee for wearing the thorns on Thy brow;
If ever I loved Thee, my Jesus 'tis now.

My passion is to pursue Jesus with all my heart.

Here is an amazing arrangement of the song:
