I have had a good week even though it passed by in a blur.
1. The week started out with a wonderful Mother's Day celebration. I had all the kids and the grands at O'Charley's to share lunch. It was great.
I know I shared this earlier this week, but wanted everyone to see my angels:
It was a very windy day so family pics did not end up being what we hoped.
2. I received thoughtful gifts and cards filled with handwritten sentiment! My very favorite thing. I love my family.
3. I had a great week at work and managed to do a few extra things that made my to-do list less scary.
4. Because of Facebook, we were able to be informed when extended family passed away and knew the arrangements immediately. We actually had to attend two visitations this week (!) which, of course, is not a fun thing, but I am so glad we knew about the situations and were able to pay our respects. Family and friends coming to visitations mean so much.
5. Quote of the week:
"Comparisons kill contentment." Karen Ehman
And so ends another week on the Journey. We are all healthy and doing well. Janae and the twins spent their first night in their new home, just one half mile down the road from my house. I'm so happy they live close by.
How did your week go? I'd be honored if you would leave a comment and share. Or, if you have a blog, link up at Susanne's place, Living to Tell the Story. We all love hearing each other's blessings
Glad you had a good week and that your Mother's day was nice. I do appreciate getting good information on Facebook. My week has been odd but good. Odd because of my tooth extraction, good since things are going well in healing.
ReplyDeleteGlad you had a good Mother's day! Love handwritten notes. It always feels good to knock some things off the to-do list.
ReplyDeleteFacebook has been great for getting news out to many people at once. Glad you were able to get to the visitations and have that time with family and friends.
So sorry about your extended family member passing; always such a difficult time.
ReplyDeleteSuch lovely pictures of the twins; they are getting so big! Glad they live very close to you!
Always neat to be remembered so wonderfully on Mother's Day!

Hi Jerralea! It was great to see your little ones, whether they were wind-blown or not! I really love hand-done cards and gifts too. I remember my mom would always ask for gifts that we would make, and I never thought they were good enough. Now I know why she loved them so well.
ReplyDeleteI have my sister here this weekend, and will have more family in for Memorial Day. It's going to be a fun week :)
Blessings,
Ceil
How wonderful that those adorable grandbabies now live so close to you!
ReplyDeleteLike you, I appreciate the closeness provided by facebook. We see family's day to day activities and know more of our acquaintances' events, even sad ones.
Happy Mother's Day! Late greeting from me but I'm glad you had fun based on this post. You are loved!
ReplyDeleteLate getting around to reading but sounds like you had a lovely week last week. Glad your Mother's Day was lovely too and that you were able to celebrate with your family.
ReplyDeleteAnd also want to give my sympathies to you about your extended family members.
