F.F.F. - 02.20.15

Welcome to Friday's Fave Five, a recap of the blessings I've experienced over the week.

Brrrrrrr! We've had sub-zero temps and about 13 inches of snow so far!

1. I'm thankful for an all-wheel drive vehicle.

2. But before the snow started, Jim and I went out on a little road trip to celebrate our anniversary and Valentine's Day. We went to a Home and Garden Show (which really turned out to be a craft fair), did some shopping, went on a barn photo hunt, went out to eat, and ended the day with appreciating this painting from the Master Artist:

3. I've mostly been working from home this week - you know how I love that! I've been doing some cooking, some reading and some organizing as well.  It's a little thing but this make-up box makes me happy:

Maybe I should do like Jen in IHeartOrganizing and Modge-Podge decorative paper on the bottom of a similar box used as a battery storage box?  Nah, I'll save that for another day.

4.  Janae and the babies will be here this Sunday. I'm anticipating the hugs and the kisses and have laid in a few "baby supplies" for when they are at MiMi's house.

5.  Quote of the week:

“Do or do not, there is no try.” – Yoda

Give it all you got!

And so ends another week on my Journey.  How did YOUR week go?  I'd love it if you left a comment, or you could link up and share at Susanne's place, "Living to Tell the Story."

  1. Whew - we've had the same, but not 13" - glad you have a 4-wheel drive for dealing with the snowy roads.

I used to love going to craft shows, but it seems like no one round here is doing them any more except for a few tables at fairs and such. Your little road trip sounds fun - belated Happy Anniversary!

I know you'll have such fun when the little ones come this weekend!

  2. Oh what fun that the babes are coming this weekend. Glad you had a nice outing before the snow crept in. I think my next car will have a 4-wheel drive option...

  3. Snow looks pretty, unless one is driving in it; do be safe!

  4. Happy Anniversary! Your double celebration sounds lovely.

Love the Yoda quote. I used to have it on my refrigerator (for my kids), but just recently wrote it out and pinned it to the lampshade on my desk. I need a little push on some projects I'm working on.

    Have fun hugging those babies!

  5. So I'm guessing you don't want to hear that it's been in the mid 70s here in So Cal with nary a snowflake in sight?

Glad you've survived the 13" of snow! I love it that you and Jim took time to admire God's handiwork. And that you're pausing to enjoy your own organizing work. It's so satisfying, isn't it?

  6. So exciting that the little ones will be there! It's good you were able to stay home this week. I love those days when I putter around and get little things done. Have a wonderful weekend.

  8. You will have so much fun with your grandbabies, won't you? I've been cleaning and organizing/purging this week too. It has felt great! Your Valentine's outing sounds delightful and your snow?? that's NOTHING compared to up here in the Great Northeast :) I love that photo you took...God sure does great Handiwork doesn't He?

  9. I love mod-podge so I say, "Go for it!" And your make-up box looks awesome. I am pleased with similar organizing/decluttering. I keep looking at my junk drawer b/c it looks so unjunky now.

So sorry to hear about your extreme weather. In Nor CA we don't see that. And I feel quite blessed by that fact. ;)

So glad that the weather didn't impact your Valentine's date with your hubby. I liked how you end it with "appreciating this painting from the Master Artist."

    Enjoy your Sunday snuggles.
