Daybook: 02.02.15

FOR TODAY, THE FIRST MONDAY IN FEBRUARY

Outside my window...leaden gray skies with snow flurries swirling. It's a chilly 21ยบ

I am thinking...about the sermon Pastor preached on complaining this Sunday.  The children of Israel grumbled a LOT. I don't want to fall into the same trap of being discontent with what God provides. Anyway, don't you just hate to hear a complainer?

I am thankful... for all my blessings. I don't deserve a one of them, but I'm sure grateful for each and every one.

In the kitchen... a new recipe from SouthernPlate.com - Giant Empanadas

I am wearing... a black, white and silver chevron sweater with black jeans and boots and a purple top.

I am creating...better organization in my spice cabinet.

I am reading... Next Door Savior by Max Lucado.

I am hoping...for a nice turn-out of bloggers. Tomorrow is the kick-off for my new meme, Testimonial Tuesdays. Feel free to drop by and link up stories of answered prayer. Share the big miracles as well as the little whispered prayers that are God's blessings to you. Big or small, we want to hear them all!

I am looking forward to... the next road trip ... wherever that may be!

Around the house...as always some dusting could be done, but on the whole, I like how our house looks. It is a comfortable haven.

A favorite quote for today... I used this on Facebook the other day, too, and I still can't get these lyrics out of my head:

It would be crazy
To choose this world over eternity ~ Mercy Me

One of my favorite things...touring homes for sale.  I love seeing what is out there. This weekend I looked at some homes for a relative who is thinking of buying. It was a lot of fun to decorate them in my mind.  (It is so amazing to me how people have so much STUFF in their homes.  Let all that stuff go!  Just sayin'.)

A few plans for the rest of the week: finishing up organizing the spice cabinet, trying some new recipes, leading a bible study Wednesday night, and, of course, blogging.

A peek into my day...

My favorite little burgundy lamp and my silver candle holder. Cozy.

  1. We like to look at houses for sale too. I like your philosophy for people to get rid of stuff, I can totally agree with that! Brr with the chilly temps!

  2. You mentioned clutter.....It amazes me how many of my neighbors can't park in their garages. Each morning they have to go out and defrost their windshield and warm the car before they leave.

Have a great week and God Bless!

  4. Oh the grumbling. Sometimes I catch myself and don't even realize that grumbling is exactly what I was doing. Ouch. My spice cabinet needs a good going over. You are motivating me.
