Daybook: 12.22.14

FOR TODAY, MONDAY, DECEMBER 22nd

Outside my window... an overcast drizzly day.

I am thinking...of how Luke chapter 2 tells us of a great company of angels appearing to the shepherds and praising God because of the birth of Jesus. I am thinking that was the very first Christmas cantata.

I am thankful... our Colorado kids got here safe and sound.

In the kitchen... bbq chicken tonight.

I am wearing... black leggings and boots with a burgundy tunic

I am creating... family traditions. Of course, the down side to that is no one ever wants to do something new!

I am reading... "A Plain Scandal" by Amanda Flower.  I've been too busy to make to much progress on this book.

I am hoping... people thought kindly of my very first Sunday morning message I gave on December 14. I'm thinking I like doing Wednesday night bible studies better...

I am looking forward to... my next stay-cation, starting with Christmas Eve and ending on January 4. What a blessing to be eligible for vacation again while our family is here!

Around the house... the tree is up and most of the gifts are wrapped. I just need to make my Christmas banner. I hope I can get to it before Christmas is over.

A favorite quote for today...
"Surely this is our God:
we trusted in him, and he saved us,
This is the Lord, we trusted in him;
let us rejoice and be glad in his salvation.
...Isaiah 25:9

One of my favorite things... soft baby cheeks to kiss on.

A few plans for the rest of the week: getting office work done today and tomorrow, holiday cooking Wednesday, then the rest of the week, enjoying my family.

A peek into my day...

The daybook is a concept created by Peggy Hostetler. You can link up at her site, The Simple Woman's Blog.

  7. I know what you mean about new traditions. My family looks at me like something is growing out of my head! Cooking this morning so there won't be much to do tomorrow! Hoping you and your family have a very merry Christmas!
