Daybook: 12.15.14

FOR TODAY, MONDAY, DECEMBER 15th

Outside my window... rain, rain, rain. I would say rainy days and Mondays get me down, but that's not really true. I will not let the weather determine my day!

I am thinking... of three families who lost loved ones this week and praying for their comfort during this holiday season.

I am thankful... for old friends. We got to see Bro. Terry and Barb Eaves last night - always a joy to visit with them.

In the kitchen... it's just me and the hubs for dinner tonight, so I'm making him one of his favorite old-fashioned meals:  hot dogs with sauerkraut, with sides of baked beans and fried potatoes.

I am wearing... leopard print top, dress jeans and leopard print flats.

I am going...to try finishing up Christmas shopping online tonight ... as much as possible.

I am reading... "A Plain Scandal" by Amanda Flower

I am hoping... that the family will like the Christmas ornament I am sharing with them this year.

I am looking forward to... Saturday, when we see our Colorado kids again.

Around the house... a little bit of chaos in the home office which has become a dumping ground during this busy time.

A favorite quote for today...

"KEEP IN MIND - Limitations aren't necessarily bad things. They are guiding posts for your path. Limitations help us to understand our priorities and keep them in place."
Wise words seen at Ashley talks a lot

One of my favorite things... a free day to do what I want. Those are few and far between ...

A few plans for the rest of the week: preparing for a board meeting, writing my annual Holiday letter (I'm late!), and decorating for Christmas

A peek into my day...
Our new ride
So thankful to have a vehicle that is NOT ten years old!

  3. I am so excited for you that your Colorado kids are going to be around again! YAY! Love your new car! I'm happy for you...and the quote you shared today is such a blessing. It really is true...limitations are really blessings because they keep us lined up with what we've set as priorities in our lives.

Have a wonderful week, my friend!

  6. That's so wonderful to be able to see your Colorado family on Saturday! Your meal sounds wonderful - my kind of favorite meal. My car is not quite 10 years old but getting there. It's been such a great car!

  7. I like your new ride:)
I am sorry to hear you know of three families who've lost loved ones this week. The holiday season, this year, feels like it has had more tragedy and losses than normal. It has felt very heavy and burdensome...silver lining, I've been praying more!
