Day 15: Life

Living among the dead ... is actually the believer's mission. We are called to be spiritually alive among a people who are dead to the things of eternity. More than that, our assignment is to somehow convince these dead people they can live.

They can live through the One who died for them. What a paradox!

A believer's life is so interesting. We don't look at things the way the world does.  Most people think life is to get all the worldly pleasure out of it they can. Eat, drink and be merry for tomorrow you might die. The believer looks forward to an abundant fruitful life with Christ living through them to accomplish His will.

Our mindset is that we are aliens living in this world, just passing through. Our life, our real Life, the one that lasts forever, really begins at death. Spiritual life begins at the death of living for ourselves and we start living for Christ. Our heavenly life, which is so much greater than we could ever even imagine, begins with our last earthly breath.

What about you? Have you been walking among the dead ones? Or are you alive to spiritual things?

Thanks to my wonderful husband who was the inspiration for this post. I asked him what the first thing he thought of when I said the word, "life," - he uttered the phrase, "living among the dead," and got my mind to thinking ...
