F.F.F. - 08.01.14

It's the start of the last month of Summer 2014!  Today's a great day to reflect on the goodness of God and the blessings of the past week.

I've a lot to do today, so I will need to keep this brief.

1.  Last Saturday, we spent about 3 hours with our youngest daughter.  We laughed, ate, and caught up with what is going on in her life.  I love my kids and anytime I see them, it's a highlight in my life.

2.  I've had a busy yet productive week. I love those!

3.  Wednesday, I was privileged to lead the bible study. It is one of the most fun things God allows me to do.  I really enjoyed the passage of scripture we covered, 1 Peter 2:1-10. Read it for yourself - you'll be encouraged!

4. Success in the kitchen:  We had fresh green beans this week (so good!), and I tried out a new recipe I pinned on Pinterest - bbq chicken pockets.  Simple and good - my favorite kind of recipe.

5. Quote of the week:

Pride is the devil's dragnet, in which he takes more fish than in any other, except procrastination.C. H. Spurgeon

Ooh, that procrastination one - I have to battle that at all times!

And so ends another week on the Journey.  I hope your week was awesome.  Leave a comment, or consider linking up at Susanne's blog, Living to Tell the Story, and let us know all about it!

We have frozen several gallon bags of fresh green beans this summer. Mmm, they are so good!
Of course a very good quote by Spurgeon. Hope you have a blessed weekend! :)

  7. So nice to spend time with our kids - as they get older it seems to get harder to get together, but such a blessing when we can.

    Love productive weeks!

    That's a convicting quote.

  8. I so agree with you on the joy of productive weeks! Sometimes the busyness doesn't feel like accomplishment at all.

Always a good thing to have successful cooking experiments. This one sounds like a keeper for you!

  9. Totally convicted with the procrastination part of the quote. Ouch!

I love simple and good recipes too. And fresh green beens...yum. Will have to make a trip to farmer's market this weekend.

So nice that you were able to be with your daughter for a bit.

  11. So glad you had time with your daughter. I'm sure it's a mutual highlight in her life as well! :)

Oof- pride and procrastination- and I'll throw in perfectionism as well... the 3Ps of my downfall. ;) Thankful for the daily Grace that breaks the devil's snare.
