Daybook: 07.14.14

FOR TODAY, MONDAY, JULY 14th

Outside my window... occasional rain, humid and near 90, but the next week or so are going to be awesome and around 80 degrees!
I am thinking... about the hopes I had as a young mother.  Life went into a different direction than I thought but the important things I hoped for are still paramount in my thoughts and prayers.  I'm believing God for those things to this day.
I am thankful... for the blessings and opportunities that have come my way.
In the kitchen... pork chops and fresh green beans
I am wearing...white capris and a black, white, teal and orange geometric print top
I am creating... a testimony ... sometimes I'm afraid it's not as good a testimony as I had planned ... I fail a lot. But, at least it can be a testimony of persistence.
I am reading... the book of Romans right now (actually studying it, which is very different than just reading it).  It's time to pick out a new library book ...
I am looking forward to... cooler days!
I am learning the only one I have control of is me ... and some days, I lose it
Around the house... I got caught up with my bookkeeping, but now the office is a mess.  Still got some fluffing to do around this nest.
I am pondering... this statement my pastor made  on Sunday,  "When people lead a double life, the life they are trying to hide always wins."  Sobering thought ...
A favorite quote for today...

In her book Pursue the Intentional Life, Jean Fleming says,
“Every life creates an atmosphere"

What atmosphere are you creating?
One of my favorite things... organizational tools.  I recently bought a whiteboard calendar to hang in my office.  Loving it already!
A few plans for the rest of the week: board meeting on Thursday, some "fluffing" and hopefully, some hanging out at Lissa's pool.
A peek into my day... thinking of my recent trip to Colorado Springs.

  1. That is a great quote of your pastor's. Something to think about, so much truth in it. You are right, it is different doing a study of a book of the Bible versus "just" reading it. I'm doing a study on the first 10 chapters of Jeremiah for a book review I'm doing and I've been working on it for about 6 weeks now, so much great info in it, just takes time to really study it :)

Glad its cooling down a bit so you can enjoy the pleasant weather.

  2. I enjoyed reading your daybook. I haven't done one in awhile...perhaps I will do one today. Great quote! I'm currently studying the Psalms out of the Soul Care Bible. Is fascinating. Taking me a long time because I am really studying what they are saying to me. I started this a week ago and am only on Psalm 4!! LOL...but..am taking notes too so....raining and very humid here but temps only in the low 80s.

  3. We haven't had pork chops in a long time (part of our new diet) but we are having them tonight! Can't wait! I'm looking forward to this cooler week too! Much nicer to work in the garden and finish the last hay field we have. Whiteboard calendars filled up way to fast for me! I'm glad mine is gone... ;)
I wouldn't be able to keep my mind of CO springs! I hope and pray that my daughters don't go to far from home...Hope you have a great week Jerralea!

  4. I enjoyed your answers. I wish all that cooler air was reaching Florida, but it's not. I'm pretty much tired of summer. I enjoy picking a book of the Bible and studying it. Have a lovely week.
