F.F.F. - 05.23.14

Welcome to my 200th Friday's Favorite Five post!  Yes, that is right.  I've reflected on the past weeks 200 times and shared at least 1000 highlights, blessings or things that brightened my day.

1.  My first highlight of the week is I'm thankful for the opportunity to share with the FFF crew.  Every Friday, we meet at Susanne's blog, Living to Tell the Story, and share about the good things in our lives.  Even when we had a not-so-good week, we all were able to find the silver lining, so to speak.

The FFF bloggers are such a great group, always positive and uplifting.  They are great commenters, too.  My FFF posts consistently rate the highest in my blog stats.

So, thank you so much, Susanne, for all you do.  I appreciate you!

2.  We weren't able to get together for Mother's Day, so two of our three girls joined us for Sunday dinner this week instead.  We went to my favorite restaurant, O'Charley's, and had a wonderful dinner.  Afterwards, we took a few pictures in front of some rosebushes I spied in a nearby parking lot.  Our area is covered with these knock-out roses everywhere you look!

3.  This week, I've been in my element as I have been de-cluttering and re-arranging supply cabinets.  There are 6 cabinets total and I've done 2 so far. I've really never done a total de-cluttering before even though I've worked here almost 10 years. I've straightened the cabinets but never totally took everything out, purged and then containerized the supplies in an order that makes sense.

Sad state of affairs ...
Orderly and with room to grow!

4. Let me backtrack a bit:  On Saturday, we had a Ladies' meeting at the home of our Pastor and his family.  It was a great time of food and fellowship.  Our pastor's wife, Andrea, had the idea of making a salad bar with everyone bringing their favorite salad ingredients.  Oh my word, it was some wonderful salad-eating with all the yummy choices.  I love me some salad!

5.  Quote of the week:

So the quality of what we write depends on the quality of who we are". -  Author, Mark Buchanan

As always, it comes back to our character.  Who we really are matters.  You can't fool people.

*BONUS:  The anticipation of a long week-end.  Memorial Day week-end is one of my favorites. For us, it usually means the first grilling out of the season and a mini road-trip.  I hope you enjoy a great week-end as well!

  1. That is a great idea with the salad bar; I'll have to remember that if we are planning something like that; I'm sure there were lots of yummies to put on the salad! Great organizing you did!

  5. What a great idea a salad bar with everyone bringing favorite salad items is! I'll have to use that one. Wow, you need to come organize my cupboards. That looks great and very accesible!

And thank you for the nice compliment. I am very blessed knowing that my little idea of sharing the good things in our everyday lives has blessed the life of someone else. You have been very faithful! And totally with you...this group of FFF bloggers is the best and totally can pull me out of the doldrums of a hard week with what they share and with their comments!

Yay for all that organizing--which as you know, I love too. If I had realized you love china, and if you had wanted my dishes, I would have given them to you :)

I hope you're enjoying your weekend.

  9. Jerri, your organizational projects are INSPIRING! So good to see progress.

Beautiful color on those KO roses. They get to be gigantic here in our long growing season.

I, too, am so thankful for the FFF crew in making me think.
