Work It

Once you become a child of God, there are some things you must do. "Faith without works is dead," explains James in the bible.

If you really believe, you will be filled with passion and WANT to do something.  So what should we do?

Every believer is called to certain things.

First, Jesus says that the work of God is that you believe that God sent Jesus.  In other words, instead of doing, you must first trust.

Whoa!  Sometimes, that can be the toughest job of all - trusting when everything around you is screaming, "give up, rely on yourself, God must not care!"

Faith has to be the foundation for any work you may do for God.  You have to know down deep in your "know-er" that God has your best interest at heart.  When times are tough, you need to know He is working everything out for your good, for His purpose.  The reality is, we might not know until we make Heaven what that purpose is.  (That's where trusting comes in - again!)

We are all called to pray for one another.

Last, missions should be the heartbeat of every believer.  He expects all of us to go, tell,  teach (or make disciples) and send.  We tell our world around us what Christ has done for us and then give so that we can send those who can go where we can't go. This called the great commission and it is something He wants each of His children to be involved in some capacity.

Trust, Pray, Go, Tell, Teach and Send.  Simple words to describe our life's work

What are you waiting for?

  1. Hi Jerralea! I love your instructions here. Faith, passion and action. No one can lose with those three in their quiver.

A wise man told me that faith is all about 'desire' and that is the same thing as passion. If we really desire, then we will back it all up with action. It's like all these ideas are woven together!

    Happy Weekend!

  2. I have been so busy with school, I feel like I have not had time to visit the blogs I usually read! So I am glad to have some time to visit and read your post today. I am inspired by this! I cannot agree more with you that trusting can be the hardest thing. It means the world to fully realize in our hearts, that we can trust God in every single thing.
Your words on telling about Christ are also an inspiration and motivator to me to resolve to live that in my own life more.

You write with a passion that makes your points come so alive. Thank you for this post.

    Have a blessed day!!
