Daybook: 08.05.13

FOR TODAY, MONDAY, AUGUST 5

Outside my window...
overcast, with occasional rain.

I am thinking... about Ephesians 5:15 & 16 ...

"See then that you walk circumspectly, not as fools but as wise, redeeming the time, because the days are evil."

If we are smart, we will make the most of the time we've been gifted with in our life. As Pastor Schroeder said, "Cash in every moment."   So often, it is easy to look back and regret the things with which we wasted our time.  We only have today ... make it count!

I am thankful... for the beautiful life I've been given.  May I not waste a moment more!

In the kitchen... beans and cornbread

I am wearing...  turquoise maxi skirt with black blouse and sandals

I am creating... a testimony of God's goodness.  Just ask me about Him!

I am reading... Cindy Woodsmall's "The Winnowing Season."

I am looking forward to...my next road trip - I haven't had time to go on one for 2 weeks now!

Around the house... a few things need attention ...

A favorite quote for today... from my favorite source of all time, the Bible:

Isaiah 43
Fear not, for I have redeemed you, O Israel;
I have called you by name, you are mine.
When you pass through the waters, I will be with you;
and through the rivers, they shall not overwhelm you;
when you walk through the fire, you shall not be burned,
and the flame shall not consume you.
For I am the Lord your God,
the Holy One of Israel, your Savior.
you are precious in my eyes, and honored,
and I love you.

If you are a believer, you are considered a Child of Abraham - you've been grafted into the Family.  (See Galatians 3, especially verse 29.) These words are for you, dear one.

He has called us by name, we are His.  So beautiful ... I can't get over it!

One of my favorite things... finding new interesting blogs.  Right now, I'm enamored with Lifeingrace.  I love Edie's every post!

A few plans for the rest of the week: this week is a more quiet week ... I don't really have much planned.

A peek into my day...

One of my favorite places - Dusk on the Lake

    That verse from Isaiah has been such comfort through the years. We have never been promised a rode garden while on earth, but we have been a promised a Pappa who is our constant help and companion!
