The Rhythm of Our Days

RHYTHM

Our routines are the rhythms of our days.  They keep us moving along all day long.

In the morning, a dance, practically with my eyes closed, of getting up, dressed, in the kitchen firing up the laptop with my Walk Away the Pounds video inside.  Soon I'm marching as Leslie Sansone extols the virtues of in-home walking.

Soon as that is done, I'm into my shower and then getting dressed routine.  If I miss a beat, and get sidetracked for 5 minutes, all is off and I'm late walking out the door.

At work, there is a rhythm as well.  Mondays are for doing records and accounts receivable, Tuesdays, I work on the bulletin, Wednesdays are for doing either the business report or the newsletter, Thursdays are for paying the bills and so on. Each day has it's responsibilites.  A day missed means the rhythm has changed.

Arriving back at home, the beat is a tad more relaxed but still things need to be done at a certain time or bedtime comes out of rhythm.  A late bed-time means an unhappy dancer ...

So to make the rhythm smooth, I must keep up those routines!

STOP

Five Minute Friday

1. Write for 5 minutes flat – no editing, no over thinking, no backtracking.
2. Link back here and invite others to join in.
3. And then absolutely, no ifs, ands or buts about it, you need to visit the person who linked up before you & encourage them in their comments. Seriously. That is, like, the rule. And the fun. And the heart of this community..

Sounds like fun, yes?  If you want to join us, go to Lisa-Jo Baker.com.

  2. Dear Jerralea
I miss the blessings to have a rhythmic life! With the Fm/CFS I am never certain how my day is going to be. So I take life just one day at the time and have learned not to worry about the things I cannot get done!
    Much love, dear friend.

  3. I so understand have to keep a rhythm in your day especially in the morning. If any one thing is off or missed I feel it the rest of the day.

  5. routines are very important in everyones lives. If folks would recognize the necessity thier lives would flow so much nicer. If our routine here at our homestead is off kilter, everything is!

  6. I loved this! One of my favorites of these that you've written for this writing exercise. Love the comparison to a dance and then I totally laughed out loud to the line "A late bed time means an unhappy dancer". I can so relate!
