1. Can I just say how much I love Cuties? Oranges, that is! Jim and I are hooked on those sweet morsels of sunshine, Clementine oranges. We're on our second bag this week.
2. On Wednesday, there was a spectacular sunset. Fellow facebookers in my area even posted about it. I grabbed my camera - it was almost too dark to really see - but I hope you get an idea. It was as if God was rolling a thick blanket of clouds over the area to put us to bed ...
Nighty-night!
3. It's been fun getting packages in the mail. Since I was down for the count with some kind of flu virus for three weeks, I did my annual "spending of my Christmas gift money" online. I found some super sales and spread my dollars amongst 4 different websites. Alas, it is now over, but it was fun while it lasted. Can we say retail therapy?
4. I was excited that American Idol began its 12th season this week. I see where some say they are not going to watch anymore, but since I just started with season 10, I'm not ready to quit. It's not that I love popular music (I don't) but I love watching the stories of these singers. By the time the season ends, I feel like I know each one's life story. I do have to wonder if the tension between Mariah Carey and Nicki Minaj will get so irritating that I might have to quit ... At least Keith Urban redeems the judges panel. And somehow, I always like Randy Jackson. He cracks me up.
5. Time now for the quote of the week. Actually this week, I came across a lot of great material - it's hard to choose!

Whatever you’re going through tonight, you need to remember that our Lord’s love for you is the source of your joy.… John Shearhart (Joy Unspeakable sermon – SermonCentral)
Don't you feel better just thinking of that?
Bonus: Our new copier will be delivered this Tuesday. Excitation!
Friday's Fave Five is a meme hosted by the lovely Susanne at her blog, Living to Tell the Story. Why not link up and share YOUR week?
I am so happy it's Friday! I don't think I've been this happy it was Friday in a while.
ReplyDeleteOh my, that sunset/blanket cloud is amazing. What a beautiful photo! And the way you described it is so beautiful, it really does look like God was tucking your town in for the night.
You always have the most wonderful quotes. That one is truly comforting. Reading it did make me feel better and eased some of my worries... it's funny how something we should know can sometimes escape us, but when we see it written out it is such a comfort :)
Have a blessed weekend!
Pass the cuties and hope your blessings continue on into the new week ahead!
ReplyDeleteOh boy...I'm wondering about this new judges panel, too, and if I will be able to bear it. Have a wonderful weekend.
ReplyDeleteoh i love your fave list! i no longer watch American Idol as I was a Simon Cowell fan. seriously. Loved him on there. Plus I don't have the time any longer cause I watch Downton Abbey, NCIS and Law and Order SVU and that's enough TV for one week for me :)
ReplyDeleteI LOVE clementines as do my girls...I sure wish my husband would eat them too! They are sooo good and packedfull of vitamin C.
enjoy the weekend!!
Those cuties are such a sweet, guilt-free indulgence.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your weekend, Jerralea.
I love Cuties, too -- one every day at lunch, at least!
ReplyDeleteLove that quote. It reminds me of the verse in Nehemiah, "The joy of the Lord is my strength."
Amazing sunset. Really neat. I had to laugh at retail therapy! Have a great week ahead.
I like oranges too. I don't guess I have every had a clementine. I will have to try them.
ReplyDeleteAlways love your quotes! Have a great weekend!!
Oh did you not just cry with the young man that ended the American Idol show this week? I've already had enough of diva egos of Maria and Nikki. I can't decide if they are just putting on a big show and if not well then they just need to grow up. Keith Urban I so far have thought is doing good when he can get a word in edgewise.
ReplyDeleteI love those cuties too. We get ones even smaller at times but I can't remember what they are called.
Yes to retail therapy!
Nothing like retail therapy when you're feeling unwell. Hope you're better now and enjoying those Cuties and gorgeous sunsets.
ReplyDelete3 weeks of flu - oh dear - so glad you're on the mend. And yes, retail therapy would certainly give me a lift too :)
ReplyDeleteA gorgeous sky - it does look like a thick blanket.
A great quote - thanks!
Hope you have a wonderful week!
I wish I could send you some of the Cuties on my tree. They're all ripe at one of course and we are having difficulty picking and eating them all. I've been trading my cuties with my TA for her Meyers lemons.
ReplyDeleteI hope you stay well now! Since you've used up your gift cards, what will you do if you get sick again??
