All Will Be Changed

I'm participating in Lisa-Jo's meme, 5 minute Friday.  She chooses a word and we have 5 minutes to write our thoughts.  No back tracking or fancying it up, just 5 minutes of writing our heart. Would you like to join us?  Link up at Lisa-Jo Baker: tales from a Gypsy Mama

CHANGE

Change is a word relevant to my life right now.  I have some Christian friends who are struggling with change.  They don't want the way their church services are to change.  No new music.  No different format.  No "seeker friendly" ways.

They want things to go on as they have always done.

Yet, if you want different results things must change.  We all agree that we want the church to grow.  Yet we don't want to do any of the things that might make newcomers more comfortable.

I heard that the definition of insanity is to keep doing things the way you always have and yet expect different results.

It's not going to happen.

Yet change is a sign of growth.  A sign of new life.  Just as a pond needs some kind of source of new water or else it becomes stagnant, we become all dried up if no changes ever come our way.  Dare I say, we become sour, or "stinky."

The funny thing is, we will all experience change - like it or not.

1 Corinthians 15:51-52 (KJV)

51 Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed,
52 In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.

We will be changed and it will be so that we can be residents of a land so marvelous we can't imagine the greatness of it.

Why wait until change is forced upon us?  Be willing now to change!

STOP

  2. Mmm...I love that verse and I do so look forward to that change. It makes the upheaval of change in this world much more bearable, especially knowing that He already knows the plans He has for me.
