More Than Enough

It's time for 5 Minute Friday - a time when I blog for 5 minutes on a word chosen by Lisa-Jo at "Lisa-Jo Baker:  tales from a Gypsy Mama."  It's fun, and always interesting to see the other bloggers' contributions.  It seems as no one sees the word in just the same way.  I love how unique each of God's creations are ...

ENOUGH

I'm reminded of the story of the millionaire who, when asked by a journalist how much was enough, replied: "Just a little bit more."

It's so typical.  Humans just want more.

We are such a needy people.

Isn't it wonderful how we have such a great God?  I love His name, El Shaddai, which can be translated, "The All-Sufficient One."  He is the God of more than enough. More. Than. Enough.

He has more resources than you can possibly imagine.  After all, He made everything.  Everything that man has invented or "improved upon" first came from raw materials created by the Creator.

Even more important than physical resources, God has an abundant supply of love, mercy and forgiveness.

Lamentations 3:22-23 tells us that.

Lamentations 3:22-23 (NKJV)

22 Through the Lord’s mercies we are not consumed,
Because His compassions fail not.
23 They are new every morning;
Great is Your faithfulness.

And so does

Psalm 36:5 (NASB)

Your lovingkindness, O Lord, extends to the heavens,
Your faithfulness reaches to the skies.

Love that reaches to the heavens.  Mercy that is new every morning. Faithfulness so big the earth can't contain it.

Enough.

Enough to meet whatever you need.

STOP
