Friday's Fave Five-March 16, 2012

Is it Friday already?  Another week has flown by here in Jerralea's world.  It's time to join Susanne at Living to Tell the Story and recap the favorite things that happened in my week.

Have you joined the FFF bloggers yet? Try it! You'll like it!

1.  Favorite Post to Write this week:  This week, I had extra things going on so I was not able to post as much.  My favorite post of the two that I wrote was my Tea Talk post, where I included a part of the bible lesson I presented Wednesday entitled, Praise is the Answer, based on Psalm 9.  I'm planning on sharing more of it next week.

2.  Favorite Meal:  On Monday, I served my homemade pot pie and salad.  The food colors looked so pretty, I had to snap a photo:

I always serve my salad ingredients separately so that each person can choose what they want in their salad bowl.  Also, the leftovers keep so much better separately.  I love to take leftover salad in my lunch! Also, thanks to Miss Shirley, who shared with me that putting little slices of butter on top of your pot pie when baking makes the crust browner and more flavorful.  She is right! Gee, I feel so Suzy-Homemaker-ish!

3.  Favorite Photo:  I don't know if you've heard of it or not, but there has been a lot of talk over the internet about being able to make a broom stand up by itself during the time of the vernal equinox.  Well, Snopes dispelled that rumor - a broom is able to stand on its own at any time.  My daughter tried it out:

4. Favorite Quote:  actually here is two for your money!

Do your daughters see you as queen and ruler of your
realm or as a slave reluctantly doing enough to get by?
… Jennie Chancey

Florence Littauer:  “It takes so little to be above average."

This really speaks to me. Lord, don't let me be a person who does as little as possible! I'll have all eternity to rest ...

5.  Favorite Blog I visited this weekStone Gable blog.  Home decor, recipes, DIY, all the things I love to read about!

That's a wrap for Jerralea's week.  Hey, I'm excited about tomorrow because it will be a short day at my other job, and beautiful weather is in store.  I'm hoping for a little trip to the woods to look for spring flowers and budding trees ....if any are found, they'll be the next star at FFF!

  4. Pot pie is one of my all time fave meals. I never thought of serving a salad "undone". Great idea.

    Love the Florence Litauer quote.

The broom thing cracked me up. I didn't even know that was a thing that was going on.

  6. Your five faves made me smile.

I look forward to reading about "Praise is the Answer." I clicked on your Tea Time post and it was encouraging to read some of the names of God.

My current fave is El Shaddai – the God Who Is More Than Enough. God has been telling me I am more than enough. Well of course! El Shaddai Is More Than Enough. Isn't it lovely how God brings His thoughts to us in a multitude of ways?

I hope you found those spring flowers you were looking for.
