Friday's Fave Five - January 27, 2012

I'm not one to mess with success.  Last week's FFF format went over so well, I thought I would do it again!

1.  Fave post to write
:  My goal as a blogger is to be more prolific this year.  I'm off to a good start with 19 posts alone in the month of January (and 4 days left to go!) I'm branching out into some new areas and having a lot of fun.  My favorite post to write this week was Top 10 Life Stories. I've gotten some comments that people are surprised I can remember that many stories.  I've got plenty more where that came from!  I have a great long-term memory bank.  (Short-term is another story.) Actually, I was torn between my favorite posts, so I have to give honorable mention to my post, God-Bumps:  How God Gave Us What We Wanted.

2. Fave quote: I am actually sharing a quote that I saw a year ago, but I'm still pondering it:

"... what God is calling out to you is to Embrace YOUR Place.  Be faithful where He has called you until He moves you on to another stage.  Allow Him to do a work in you and stop thinking about what you want Him to do through you.”  … Holly Furtick, The Preacher’s Wife blog

3.  Fave photo: Actually I have two. A new french door fridge for my kitchen!  Excitation!

A sweet friend sent flowers for my birthday. (Actually other friends brought chocolate cake, chocolate peanut butter bars, cards and a Willow Tree Angel, but I only have a picture of the flowers.)

4.  Fave meal:  This week's favorite meal was Santa Fe soup that I assembled before I left for work and put in the crock pot.  I love meals like those!  You come home, the house smells delish, and you can have the table set and be ready to eat in minutes. This great recipe comes from no other than our own Lisa Writes!  Click here to see the link.

5.  Fave new blog to visit:  I already gave you a heads up about the preacher's wife blog (just click on her button), but I also want to share a new blog that I've been linking up with - Jennifer's Getting Down With Jesus. Jennifer runs a great blog party called God Bumps and God-Incidences.  Check her out here!

But no one can compare to our fabulous Friday's Favorite Five hostess, Susanne.  You can visit her at Living to Tell the Story.

  2. The soup sounds delicious!

Congrats on the new fridge! Looks like my in-laws' new fridge - they love it!

I'd have to agree on your favorite post for this week.

  3. Very nice fridge! Love the bottom freezer.

That is an excellent quote. So often we try to remove ourselves from where God is trying to work something in us to something we want Him to do.

Your mention is very sweet. Thank you, friend.
