Tea Talk - Thursday, December 1, 2011

1. I'm having... my favorite Irish Breakfast Tea in my Cornerstone Church mug.  This was a little gift given to visitors to the church.  It says, "I've been mugged by Cornerstone Church," and on the other side is their address. (As you can see, I have NOT put up any Christmas decor, yet!)

2. I'm feeling....sad that my week at home is almost over!

3. On my mind.... Christmas and all the things that must be done to celebrate the season.

4. A verse to encourage:
"The Lord is my shepherd;
       I have everything I need."
Psalm 23:1 New Century Version

I love this translation of this scripture.  It's so true; when He is your Shepherd, every need is met.  In this busy time of the year, we can rest assured that everything will be okay! It's also good that in a season of  "gimme, gimme" we realize that, really, we do have all we need.

  1. What a fun mug! I hope your week at home was rejuvenating, and you'll keep that "balance" during these next few, busy weeks!

    Blessings,

  2. I am excited to read more of your blog! To answer your question, "What is throwing eggs."...well itt is a long story, but when trials have been toughest I literally throw eggs at my fence. It feels good to hear the splat, and it releases tension.

Of course, I pray and rely on the Lord, but it gets that initial human frustration out. Thanks for visiting my site.

  3. Jerralea~ Thanks for sharing tea with us. I am sad your week at home is almost over too. I like staying at home, though I haven't been here much lately.

I like the point "I have everything I need." But "I shall not want" is my favorite part of that Psalm. I shall not want means that I will be satisfied. Sometimes we can have everything we need but still want more. The Lord as my shepherd - truly - will satisfy my soul and I shall not want.

Oh, I haven't decorated yet either. I can't wait to get on the ball with that. God bless you.

  4. Hi, Jerralea. That mug is funny. :) Yes, how true--the Lord has given me everything I need. I'm so glad he has steered our family away from the commercialism of this special season, so that we can focus on Him and celebrating the fact that He sent His Son to us.

  6. Hi Jerralea,
I'm here for the third time. Been wanting to leave a comment but failed.Hopefully this one gets through.

I laughed when I first saw your mug. Loved the pun!
Time at home is always short. I pray you get another blessed opportunity to enjoy the blessings of being home.

Thank you for sharing that all-time favorite verse. It's a good reminder that we all have everything we need and so we need to keep our hearts content especially this season.

Thank you for joining Tea Talk this week.

    Blessings!
