Friday's Fave Five #112

On Fridays, I always participate in a meme called "Friday's Fave Five" hosted by Susanne at Living to Tell the Story.  It's a great way to remember the good stuff of life!  We are each to share 5 things that was a highlight, a favorite or something that made us smile this week.

1. One highlight of my week is that my daughter got her Senior pictures.  I can't believe my baby is a senior!  I'll share one now (and save the others for later!).

2.  I have just not felt that great this week so I have been going to bed early most nights.  I know I've mentioned this before but I have to say one of my favorites is my comfy bed. When I think of how many people in the world don't even have a bed, I am really grateful for what I have. My prayer is that everyone finds a warm comfortable place to sleep.

3. Homemade apple butter!  My friend, Marti, brought me a jar of apple butter that she had made.  Apple butter brings memories of my granny who used to make some every year.  I like to make peanut butter and apple butter sandwiches.

4. Homemade Chicken Noodle Soup:  I made the recipe that Lisa Writes share on FFF about 3 weeks ago.  It was delicious! Even my picky daughter liked it. Here is the link.

5. Quote of the Week:

“Discernment is not a matter of simply telling the difference between right and wrong; rather it is telling the difference between right and almost right.” Charles H. Spurgeon
May I have more and more discernment! [I think I saw this on Laura's Outnumbered Mom blog, but it was too good not to share again!]

So, that's it. My favorite 5 from this week. What's yours?  Link up at Living to Tell the Story and share!

  6. Confession: I just stole that Spurgeon quote and used it for my facebook status! I love sleeping in my own bed. It really felt good after being at my brothers over the last weekend and sleeping in a double. Yikes that's small! Your daughter is so lovely. What a great photo. Time flies when you have kids!! Have a great weekend Jerri and I hope you feel better quickly!

  13. You have a beautiful daughter and I think these are school pictures? I remember ours just the one colour background.

I was tempted with the apple butter, I still may make it, but not on the road.

I have a comfy bed for tonight, my blessing as well.

  14. My baby will be a senior next year. Time goes by way too fast, huh? Your daughter is beautiful. I am grateful for my comfy bed, too. We don’t need to take it for granted. Homemade chicken noodle soup – have I EVER had that? I don’t know. Ha. I’m sure it’s yummy. May I have more discernment, too. Had to think about the quote. Good one.
