It's time for Friday's Fave Five - a time to reflect on the highlights in our week.
1. A place for everything: I love order, and nothing makes me happier than having my house in order. A couple of days this week, when I came home from work, I noticed that the kitchen was picked up, no dishes in the sink, the countertops and sinks were gleaming. When I leave in the mornings, I try to leave the kitchen spotless. It's great to come home and see that the family maintained it! That makes me feel like cooking dinner!
2. Sunflowers: I noticed in my kitchen this morning that I have a lot of sunflower decorations. I love decorating in the kitchen with sunflowers. Also, I always want yellow walls in my kitchen; I just feel that sunny yellow lifts my spirits.
3. Saving money: I recently started couponing to save on that dreaded grocery bill. I found a couple of pretty good deals this week. I was excited!
4. Grapes: I love grapes - my whole family does - and today they are 99 cents a pound at Kroger. I will be buying a bunch. My favorites are the red grapes, but I'll eat green, too. (I know Susanne said grapes are one of her faves last week, but I love them, too!)
5. A day at home: Monday was Labor Day for those of us who live in the States. It was a great day for me of just relaxing at home, puttering around the house doing this and that, and working on a couple of decorating projects. I even slept in until 9 a.m.! For me, that is an accomplishment!
So, how did your week go? Link up over at Susanne's Living to Tell the Story and tell us about it!
I dream of having a yellow kitchen too - a warm yellow that is!
ReplyDeleteGreat five for the week.Order in the kichen, saving money and a great price for the grapes.
How lucky for you to sleep in till 9am - WOW!
Happy Friday.
I remember one of my mother's favorite refrains: I clean, I cook, I arrange everything. All I ask of you is to maintain it :-)
ReplyDeleteGreat faves. I especially like no. 3. If I had been well disciplined with saving money at least 3 years ago, I would have been able to do what I wanted to do now.
You are so right! A clean kitchen invites cooking. To me, a messy kitchen means I want to clean it up and then go read a book.
ReplyDeleteA house and kitchen in order is such a treat! Enjoy. I have a project going right now that's messing things up :0)
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed doing nothing on Labor Day, too. Have a great weekend.
Great list...I can relate to each one....
ReplyDeleteNice list, Jerri. Want to come put my house (or at least the kitchen) in order, now?
ReplyDeleteBy the way, do you have a clue where the Mr. Linky is on the Friday Fave Five site is? I can't find it!
Thanks for sharing.
Yellow is a lovely fresh color for a kitchen. I say go for it!
ReplyDeleteI'm still enjoying my grapes! ;v)
It is nicer coming home to cook in a spotless kitchen isn't it?
Well let's see now... I have yellow walls in my kitchen... (but no sunflowers... that was the 'old' decor)... and I have several bunches of grapes in my fridge... my house is still fairly clean today... I'm battin' pretty well against YOUR expectations! Would you like to come cook in MY kitchen??? :)
ReplyDeleteSaving money is also a good thing. I saved $148 this week. I'm afraid to tell Hubby how much I spent to SAVE that much! Oy!
This was a GREAT list!
I love order, too. When my outside world is in order, my inside world seems more orderly, too.
ReplyDeleteI bet you have a bright and cheery kitchen with all the sunflowers!
Love the fact that the family get the kitchen neat, that doesn't really happen in my house, they try, but..........
ReplyDeleteYour Labor Day sounded wonderful! :)
I'm totally with you, especially on numbers 1,3 and 5. I am not always successful at leaving the house in the morning with a clean kitchen, but it sure feels great when I do!
ReplyDeleteFunny how you call them red grapes and we in Belgium call tem blue grapes! I love decorating too, and yellow is one of my favorite colors. It makes every gloomy day look sunny!
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend!!
**them** sorry, typo!
