The Simple Woman's Daybook - June 22, 2009

FOR TODAY, MONDAY, JUNE 22nd EDITION...

Outside my window
... HOT sunshine!
I am thinking... on Galatians 6:9 -
"Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up."
I am thankful for... the fact that I am not a quitter!
From the kitchen... one day this week, we'll have spaghetti and garlic bread, another day, oven-fried chicken tenders, another day, good ole beans and cornbread and fried squash. I'm just not sure which days, yet ...
I am wearing... my favorite brown dress with mauve flowers. The material is so cool and comfortable.
I am creating... ideas for a scrapbook picture frame I picked up at a yard sale.
I am going... to cut down on sugar in my diet. I'm starting by limiting my sweet tea to once a day ...
I am reading... Ephesians, and some new decorating blogs I've come across ...
I am hoping... God answers "Yes" to some petitions I have asked of Him.
I am hearing... the hum of the blessed air conditioner. God bless the person who invented it!
Around the house... there are always things to clean and organize, but nothing major this week.
One of my favorite things... a day off!
A few plans for the rest of the week: I want to get some cards in the mail and work on my scrapbook frame.
Here is picture thought I am sharing...

  1. I love to hear that there are people out there still fond of the postmarked card. I love getting mail through "snail mail"! Something about a handwritten note inside an envelope, signed, sealed, delivered with care. I love it!

  2. Enjoy your day off. We just had beans and cornbread last week. I hadn't had that in years so it was a real treat.

I posted about a/c in daybook this morning, too. I agree...God bless the person who invented it. I'd melt without it.

  3. Great list...funny that not many people want cards any more...every one wants every thing so fast and in email. Aloha

  5. Your family is lovely, what beautiful girls!

I hear you on cutting down on sugar, I was just thinking this weekend that I really need to do that myself. It's so hard when you have a sweet tooth!

  6. I know about the sugar thing too - but sweet tea just once a day? Ooooo - that seems a bit harsh...lol

Thank you for sharing your Daybook at Grandmother Wren's. Please keep dropping by and linking in throughout the summer - I look forward to hearing more from you.

  7. Thanks for stopping by my place:) I enjoyed reading your daybook. I had to give up sweet tea everyday too. It's great not to have the sugar, but the caffeine was my culprit. And I looooovvvve sweet tea!

I love the pic of your family!

    Happy Monday!

  8. I am glad you are not a quitter, especially if you are going to cut down on sugar.
It's tough, I eat no sugar.

Love that picture of Daddy and your gurls...just beautiful.
    Have a great week!

  9. Sweets are my downfall so I've been 'thinking' about cutting down - wish I would stop thinking about it and act upon it, lol.
All the best with cutting down your sugar intake.

    Have a lovely week.

    God Bless,
    Elena :)
