The Simple Woman's Daybook - June 1, 2009

FOR TODAY, MONDAY, JUNE 1st EDITION...

Outside my window... sunshine!

I am thinking... of how much enthusiasm for life that I had as a small child. I am wondering why my level of enthusiasm is not as great as it was. (Although, I think I still have a pretty positive outlook on life.)

I am thankful for... the many many blessings God has given me. The greatest blessing is that He loves me in spite of my faults!

From the kitchen... some menu plans for this week include spaghetti and garlic bread, crockpot chicken, and using the left over chicken I will then make chicken and yellow rice.

I am wearing... a black skirt with my black, white and fuschia "pebbles" shirt. (I think it reminds me of something Pebbles Flintstone would wear.)

I am going... to ride my bike as much as possible this week.

I am reading... Ephesians - quite possibly my favorite New Testament book!

I am hoping... for a wonderful visit with my mom and sister and nephew that are coming to visit next week!

I am hearing... the hum of the air conditioner. It's sad that we have to turn them on - I would love for cool spring weather to last forever!

Around the house... spiffing up the house for visitors and the last phase of our bathroom remodel happens tomorrow!

One of my favorite things... leaving the kitchen spotless before I walk out the door!

A few plans for the rest of the week: having my hair done and getting some things accomplished before our "staycation" begins next week.

Here is picture thought I am sharing...

This is a shot I took of a small lake from a levee while riding bikes. God made such a beautiful world for us to enjoy!

Love that view. I know what you mean by the enthusiasm level- sometimes even with positive outlook, the weight of the world makes it hard. Anyway- great daybook. Thanks for stopping by my blog!

Good Monday June Morning.

I want to thank you for something that may not make much sense but here goes....

Thank you for always being here on Monday. For being a normalacy in my life that lately has been...hate to say hard but it has been, more than different.

I love the visual of the Pebbles shirt. She has to be one of my favorite cartoon people. Elroy is another fav. :)

Love Ephesians too....I think my fav is Colossians.

Have a great week!!!

I agree, sometimes I think it would be nice to be a kid again with all that innocence and wonder. I settle for sitting back and just watching the kids sometimes. . . and sometimes even joining them.

We do need to take time to enjoy the beauty of God's creation. In doing so we actually give Him glory because we're not passing by His creation without marvelling at it. Enjoy the bike rides and have a lovely week.

God Bless,
Elena :)

I would love a visit from my mom and sister. That sounds so nice!
Haven't had much contact with my sis in years - except for Christmas.
God laid it on my heart to reach out to her, because I am just as much able to contact her as she is me...So I'm sending her a card today, and will call in a few more.
Hope your visit is great!
