R is for Reflection

We are on day 18 of the A-Z blogging challenge and I've thought of several good "R" words: reflection, risen, rushing, room, ready, regrets and run.  Let's see if I can work them all into the same post.

I've chosen today's word to be reflection. Reflection can mean mirroring an image.  My goal in life is to reflect the Savior.  The world needs to see love, real, pure love, the kind Jesus demonstrated to us while on earth, when He went to the cross, and now in heaven as He is risen in power and glory.

Reflection can also mean contemplation. I truly believe there are many people who rush headlong through life without ever stopping to think about what they believe, where they will spend eternity or what legacy they will leave behind.  Developing their character and making a mark on their world are not in their five-year plan.  Why they don't even plan ahead for anything!

Hey, I've been there.  It's very easy in the hustle and bustle of life to get caught up in the next thing, the next event, running from work to ball games, ballet, or whatever your kid is into and then rushing home for food, baths and bed.

Is there room in your life for God? Room for others? Or is it just "us four and no more." Or even worse, is all your time and thoughts for yourself?

You've only one life.  Live it in such a way there will no regrets in eternity.

I want to live ready.  Ready for eternity.  Ready for anything that comes my way.  Ready to trust God with my future and those of my loved ones. Because, upon reflection, I see that He has always been there for me and helped me so I know He can be trusted.

What about you?  Are you living ready?

  1. Hey there! I'm just getting to your blog on the linky list of the a=z. Love you R words...ready is my fav. I want to be ready for eternity too. sometimes I'd be happy for Christ to return today! The older I get, the less attachment I have to this life.
