You Can't Out-give

It's the last day of the 31 day challenge and this is the last post of my 31 Basics for Believers.  I've enjoyed sharing and treasure each comment that was made.

I chose as my last subject one that many want to avoid - giving.

We can worship God by praying, praising, reading His Word, and attending church but there is one more way in which to show our devotion. We honor God by our giving. After all, He gave freely all things to us.
He even gave His only Son for us.

Luke 6:38 King James Version (KJV)

Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again.

In other words, be generous!  Give generously and you will receive generously.  It is the spiritual law of sowing and reaping.  It applies not just to money but spiritual qualities as well.

If you want mercy, give mercy.

If you want forgiveness, forgive.

If you want love, love others - lavishly!

You are never the loser when you give to God.  Sometimes you receive a return of material rewards, sometimes spiritual needs are met, sometimes both. He promises to meet your needs when you have given to others in need.

He says in His word, "Try Me."  In other words, see if you can out-give Him.  He will open a window out of heaven to let blessings flow down if need be.

Remember, even the smallest gift, such as a cup of cold water, if given with the right motive, will be blessed,

  2. Hi Jerralea
That running over has great meaning to me! When we are open to receive our Pappa's love, He gives us so much that it runs over naturally without us even trying. And the only way to keep being filled, us to empty ourselves towards our Lord and towards others!
