Praise Posts 2024 - Day 4

Grateful for Faithfulness

Wake up, my heart!

Wake up, O lyre and harp!
I will wake the dawn with my song.
I will thank you, Lord, among all the people.
I will sing your praises among the nations.
For your unfailing love is as high as the heavens.
Your faithfulness reaches to the clouds.

Psalm 57:8-10 New Living Translation

Father,

I love that line, “I will wake the dawn with my song,” because, truly, there is so very much to praise You for. But sometimes our busy lives crowd out the thankfulness, and our to-do lists are on our minds first thing in the morning instead of praise.

There is no other God like You – everyone needs to know it! Who else is filled with so much love and faithfulness that even the heavens can’t contain it?

Why You love us, why You are faithful to a forgetful people – I can’t comprehend it – but I’m so grateful for it!

From now on, O Holy Spirit, wake me up with a thought of praise. Put melody in my heart and I will sing Your praises.

In Jesus’ name, so be it, amen.

Welcome to Day 4 of Praise Posts 2024, a tradition that has been featured on the Journey every November since 2014.

Over the years, I've given my Lord praise for all sorts of things, big and small.

This year’s praise posts are going to be 10 days of prayers of gratitude based on scripture thanking God for the blessings I've enjoyed, and also available to every believer who has accepted Jesus as their personal Savior.

Join me, won't you?
