Wardrobe

I love clothes, shoes, BOOTS, purses and jewelry. My main problem is finding good storage for my wardrobe.

I feel you only have a limited amount of time to make a good first impression and I want to be well prepared.

Growing up, my grandmother always taught us to wear and look your best when going out into the public.

As I've traveled my Journey, I have learned something. Yes, it is important to make a good impression - as a Christian, I represent Christ - but there are more important things to put on than the latest fashion choices.

A well-dressed woman would have an incomplete wardrobe if she didn't wear the things the Apostle Paul suggests in the third chapter of Colossians:
Put on tender mercies, kindness, humility, meekness, long-suffering (that means patience!); bearing with one another, and forgiving one another ... above all ... put on love.
It's funny ... if a person has these qualities evident in her life, what she is wearing will hardly be noticed.

If you've met someone on your Journey who has put on these qualities topped off with a loving spirit, you will long remember that person. His or her influence will be unforgettable. (And if you ever met a cranky sour-puss, that person's memory is also unforgettable!)

What's in your wardrobe? Does it contain the season's newest trends? Whatever your fashion choices may be, just be sure to put on spiritual accessories to complete the look.

The Journey is our way Home. There is nothing more important than making that final destination. Jesus paid my ticket there, but I have to walk it out. In October, I will be observing the things that happen while traveling the Journey and writing a daily post about my observations.
Because I like to stretch myself, I will also do a challenge within a challenge - 31 days of 5 minute free writes. I will take a topic and run with it, writing furiously for 5 minutes, tailoring it to relate to my theme of examining life along the Journey.

If you are a subscriber, you will receive my #31Day posts each day. If you're not a subscriber, why not? Please go up to the Follow By Email box in the very top of the right column and enter in your email address. I don't want you to miss a thing!

You can also click here each day and look at the bottom of this post. The link to the newest post will be there.

If you would like to join in on the 31 Day Challenge, either as a writer or a reader, go here.

If you would also like to do the 31 Day challenge by doing it in a 5 Minute Free Write format, go here.

  1. So true about accessorizing ourselves not only with physical beauty, but what matters to the Lord; our heart and that includes those spiritual accessories.

  3. I loved this Jerralea!! I do love to be updated (age appropriate NOT like my daughters!!) and I don't mind spending money on the latest boots, sweaters, tunics, shade of lipstick, etc. BUT like you stated, how much better to put on the fruits of the spirit and all of those other spiritual accessories. Including a smile! We do need to represent Christ well especially in today's culture. Thanks for a great read!!
